You're exactly right. The only thing that matters is getting through today nic free. I just get a little amped up when I'm trying to encourage newbies.

My main point is that YOU can do this. If Chantix helps you keep your word, then take it. But YOU have the power to do this even without that little pill. You are the bad-ass quitter in this equation.

Btw...I was an XBOX 360 gamer (Medal of Honor, Metal Gear, Madden). I didn't grow out of it...I had kids. Now little league, soccer, gymnastics, etc...well, I never pass up a chance to crash. I'll come back to it. And do it nic-free this time.

Stay strong...you got this!!!
Pay attention to Sir Bean...he speaks quit truth...

Thanks guys.

Well i ended up getting some from the doctor yesterday. I've only taken it twice so far.
BUT - I'm day 3 still quit. I'll be honest i do have a shit ton of random thoughts for wanting a plug. Last night was probably the worst (of the two days...) and having so many routines that involve chewing around the house is just brutal. I'm a huge gamer so what do i normally do when i game...drink and chew! I think i tore through a 5.25oz bag of seeds in an hour last night while gaming. Cheek and tongue are raw as hell this morning.
I know you guys hear this a lot of newbies but this really has to be my good quit. I read the Tom and Jenny Kern story and yes, it made me rethink going back to the bitch. I don't see using a pill as a crutch, it's still cold turkey regardless. But I try to pride myself on being an honest person and having integrity when making commitments to friends and family. You guys are both and I'm sticking to my quit for today, just for today. God knows that's all i have to worry about for today.

Just got done with breakfast....kick ass breakfast bagel and a 20oz coffee from a local place in town...after food cravings aren't fun.
Time to think about something else!!

Already posted roll for today. Thanks again bro!
Truth be told, it's gonna suck no matter what. It gets better after a week or so, and after a month it becomes about making THE ONLY CHOICE, which of course is NAFAR (never again for any reason). You'll always have challenges - the first time you golf, or the first time going out with the guys.

My B-inlaw is getting married soon, so of course I started to get scared of his stag party - for a minute anyway, then I remembered I am a bad ass quitter, and I control what goes into my body, and 1 party isn't going to make me a slave again. Nothing is worth that, or letting my solid quit bros here and elsewhere down . This brothership is real, build on it and get the help you need these early days.

Yeah this has been a long time coming. I'm always fantasizing about getting out and hiking or just doing fun shit outdoors and i never do because the nicotine has me chained to my couch.
I was chompin on seeds most of last night after work and then trying to actually get to sleep was a pain. I kept havin these body aches and almost like, spasms. So i'm sure that's just the bitch gettin angry.
I've got an appointment to see the doctor today about something else, but i thought about asking him about chantrix or whatever that stuff is.
Have any of you guys known people to be successful in quit with that stuff?
I'd watch out for Chantix. Some horror stories out there but also some success. If you take it, you're going to have to face withdrawal from nic, then withdrawal from Chantix.

Do yourself a favor and go cold turkey. We did, you can too.

Yes, there are several here that used Chantrix and are quit. The only 2 rules here are POST ROLL, and DON'T use nicotine, anything else is fair game.

If you are serious about quitting this is the place. I am going to cut and paste a little of what I had posted on a retread here at KTC. To quit, your inner will, fortitude and desire to win is what will get you and keep you quit. I am 531 days quit today and I still get cravings for a dip. Sometimes they are daily for a week sometimes less frequent, but always lurking around the corner. What keeps me quit is my desire and will power to say FU nicotine, I will not ever come back. Obviously stomping the cravings gets easier with time under your belt, but you still have to have a plan to win. Mine is KTC! This is a war that will never end, the key is winning the daily battles to remain free from your addiction. You will never be free from the war because you are an addict, none of us will ever have that pleasure but we did it to ourselves. If you are serious about quitting and staying quit, follow the path here at KTC and its fool proof. Welcome to the asylum.......

Congrats on a great choice, Matdrake. Learn how and why we post roll. (Killthecan.org link above) Then do it everyday.

Also, read everything you can on this site. Camp out in the chat room, get involved in this site and enjoy living free. Yes, it will suck at first...you know that. So turn the tables on the Nic Bitch and embrace the suck. Those withdrawals are the feeling of healing, brother!!!

YOU CAN DO THIS!!!
