Nice work Pharmacist.
Thank you for posting an intro. That was request number one. Request number two was to read like a madman...everything on this site. Arm yourself with knowledge.
It looks like you listened. For that, I am thankful.

Like I told you, all of us have been a day one and we get it. All you needed to do was just Listen, and then Do.

So, I know you are going to catch some heated words for a bit for caving on day 5, but let me say something about that. One, it angers quitters that you had a form a nicotine. We fight very hard every day to stay quit. Two, it is disrespectful to each one of us, to have you do that when you know having just one is not an option for any of us. We are addicts which I think you now understand. Three, it is dishonest to post roll and then use because it got tough one day. You posted roll and you didn't' keep your word. I think we talked thru how to avoid this next time. Finally, when we reach out to you and offer advice and extend our hand to help you, but you use, it is a slap in the face.

Whatever other quitters bring to you regarding the cave, you will just have to wear it but most importantly, feel it and be in the moment. Make your quit stronger by NEVER coming back to these days. Then, when you have honestly plead your case, keep quitting and remain quit. Finally - go help someone else.

Never Again For Any Reason....remember that!

I appreciate your honestly in chat last night and seeing you do what was requested is appreciated. Therefore, I will quit with you today and support you. DO NOT expect another chance from me. This is it. This is your helping hand. Remember - none of this will work unless you WANT to be quit.

Why didn't you did this on your initial quit? not on your new quit after you caved, it's like you didn't fully commit to KTC till after you caved???

Wassup PharmD candidate. For starters your irony of "medical professional" and nicotine addict is shared by many here on the site. We have a number of doctors, EMTs, and yes pharmacists. I myself am of the R.Ph. breed and know all too well how much I used to think that I needed dip to get me through pharmacy school and the profession itself. Even when I moved out into the "business" world into managed care, that addiction followed me every step of the way. I only wish that I had the wherewithal to man up as early as you're doing.

I happened to notice your Day 1 roll post, waiting to see when and if an intro page would be posted. Keep posting roll my friend, that is the centerpiece in which this quit is built. Get involved and stay involved. Statistically, about 2/3 of people who start quitting here, don't make it to day 100. Why? because they don't post roll and protect their quit. Furthermore, only 5% of people under the age of 25 make it to day 100. The reason I tell you this, is because I want you to succeed. I want you to be the anomaly, not just another statistic. All you need to do is post roll every day and promise not to use nicotine for that day. One day at a time, we'll quit with you, and you will win...one day at a time.

Lets do this. Check your PM for your first set of numbers.

Hey Pharmacist - welcome to KTC, and congratulations on making the decision to quit. It looks like you've got your head fairly well wrapped around it. Just remember that a lot of those stats are averages at best, so if you get to Day X and Y hasn't happened, don't let the bitch in to discourage you. Make sure ti get over to the Welcome Center and read everything over there. I really want to draw your attention to posting roll. Do that first thing, every damn day. I can't overstate the importance of that - it is our daily pledge to ourselves and this community not to use nic that day. You're in the May 2015 quit group.

I'm quit with you today brother. Shoot me a PM if you have any questions, or if you want to trade numbers for support.

I started dipping when I was 19. I was playing call of duty in the middle of the night and decided to sneak a dip out of my dad's skoal peach out of pure boredom. On Sunday night I was driving back to college and decided to buy a can of my own. That's where it started. I am 22 now and have been chewing a can a day of grizzly/kodiak wintergreen for the last 3 years. I would describe myself as a ninja dipper. I have hid dip from my parents, roommates, friends, and co-workers. Locking myself in my room to dip at home out of boredom, sitting in my car at work to sneak a dip, or "taking a piss" at college every 30 minutes to sneak a dip in the bathroom. I have never been caught.

Why have I decided to quit dip?

-I can't hide it forever
-My teeth/gums have already suffered
-I do not like being a slave to an addiction
-There is no benefit. I have always looked forward to a "study break" to take a dip... but how is this rewarding? Taking a dip just to suppress withdraw, gag on a mouthful of dip, and feel tired for the next 20 minutes?
-Dipping as I enter pharmacy school and become a pharmacist would be laughable
-I will have more energy and will be more productive without secret dip breaks

I plan to live on sweet tea and have bought some smokey mountain. Z-quil to sleep.

I am a Buckeye fan and of course a fan of the Cavs, Indians and Browns. I like to play golf. This is beginning to feel like what I imagine a dating website to feel like so I'm cutting it off here, plus I have to take a piss from the tea I'm drinking to flush away the nic...

The arsenal to craves:
-Getting on the site (reading/chat)
-Texting
-Smokey mountain
-Iced tea/coffee/water
-Vitamin C
-Music
-Working out
-TV/XBox
-Z-quil

Thing I need to avoid:
-Instead on just focusing on staying quit, I need to focus on eliminating even the though of POTENTIALLY dipping.
-Don't romanticize dip!!!
-By quitting dip I am giving up ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!
There is nothing enjoyable/fun/of benefit by dipping to eliminate withdrawal!!!

It takes 21 days to "break a habit" and according to my research 84 days of quit for the number of nicotine receptors to return to the level of a non user. I will remember that there is a light at the end of the tunnel while I eat away at this quit 1 hour at a time

I will prove all doubters wrong
Today I put my quit back on the map
