Welcome Jeremy.

What you're going through is normal. I don't know if I had the mucus problem but I certainly had sore throats, sore tongue, sore gums, and all-over misery for quite a while when I first quit. I thought of it as my brain and body being in shock from no nicotine all of a sudden.

You'll get through this. Just take it one day at a time. Your body and brain will fight you for a while but it gets so much better with time. The cravings slowly go away too.

Best wishes to you.

Dude! You were stuffing a poison and natural pesticide in your grill for 8 years. Your brain has gone haywire! It takes awhile to get back to normal. You have a price to pay. If you want your freedom there is a field of shit your going to have to wade through till you feel free and clearheaded and normal again. It takes guts to find out how great life can be on the other side of the bars.

Welcome jws, it is mental at this point, and with the KTC makes you accountable. Proud to be quit with you today.

to answer your questions...i didn't have the mucus thing..maybe you have allergies. I didn't have allergies until i was about 30 and i now have them. The sleep thing is normal in regards to your quit. It will go away. If you want some support and if you have been NICOTINE free since 4/18, you need to post day 14 in july's roll and promise you won't use nicotine today. One thing that this site gives quitters that come here in your situation is some stability. You are past the physical withdrawal, its all mental now man.
Boy I sure could use a beer right about now!

My name is Jeremy, I am from GA. I have quit since 4/18/2014. I have dipped for the past 8 years and I feel okay so far. I am having issues with sore throat and issues with too much mucus and always having to hack up extra phlem (sorry about the TMI).
I am looking for some answers like 1. is it common, the mucus issue...if so, how long does it last?? 2. Is it normal to not get a good night sleep very often and wake up craving a dip??Please help guys.. and thank you
Welcome !! I would suggest you hit the welcome center and read everything you can! Learn how to post roll and do it daily! That is your promise to yourself and to us that you will be nicotine free for the next 24 hours. Look into what to expect when you quit dipping on this site also. There are all the support and answers you need here. As for me I did not sleep for crap for 5 to 6 weeks at the start of my quit. Also had sore mouth, teeth, and gums too. Quit 1 day at a time, it does get some much better and it is worth it to be free! Today I am 194 days free and loving it after 25 years! You can do it too! PM me if you need anything
Quitting every damn day since October 21, 2013
