I am a long time chewer for 30 - 35 years. I have quit a couple of times before, the last time was around 2007 or 2008 when I managed to quit for 3 years before starting again.
I quit 1 week ago and have had a very difficult week. I found this site because I was looking for support.

Welcome Fenster,
Congratulations on your decision to quit nicotine. Head on over to your quit group
December 2019 Pre-HOF Quit Group. There you can post your promise to abstain from nicotine for the next 24 hours on the Roll Call post.
The process here is simple:
1. Post your promise to be nicotine free
2. Keep your word
3. Repeat Daily
We quit One Day At A Time (ODAAT) here. We don't worry about tomorrow because all we can control is today. Your previous stoppages are just that, stoppages. This is where your quit begins.
Wake up, Piss, Post your promise (WUPP) Every damn day (EDD) means post your promise early in your day every day. Weekends and holidays included.
Exchange phone numbers with other quitters in your group and some of the vets. Use those numbers when cravings get rough. Use those numbers the rest of the time, to get to know your fellow quitters and build those bonds of brotherhood and accountability. Knowing that someone actually cares whether or not you succeed in your quit is a great motivational tool that helps keep me quit everyday. I was a 3 tin a day dipper for over 30 years and I am now 609 days nicotine free.
You can do this, you just have to want it and you need to use the tools presented before you.
Proud to quit with you today,
Chris
