Thanks for all the input. I ran out at lunch and found a place that sells Smokey Mountain. I picked up a can of Classic and a can of Straight. I also ordered a couple cans of Hooch online. Hopefully that helps a little.
My personal favorite was/is Baccoff. You can order it directly from dipstop.com

Ok, thanks.

Thanks for the support and advice, it all helps. Doing a little better the last day or so. I feel a little less edgy and I don't feel as much of a desire to stab the irritating people in the neck, lol.  That's funny because I work at a knife factory and am surrounded by 1000's of sharp knives.

One question I have is about getting that oral fix. I'm not that crazy about gum, hard candy, seeds etc....are any of the fake chews any good?  The non tobacco, non nicotine "snuff"?   What's a good one to try for a long term Copenhagen long cut user?

Thanks for any input
Fenster - 8 days quit

Welcome to the December group. I'm 14 days quit and have been getting by on fake dip. As a cope long cut user also I haven't been able to find anything that's close, but the best one I've found so far for me is Baccoff original fine cut. I order from their site directly. You can try a variety pack that includes multiple flavors.

Fenster,

I chewed Smokey Mountain Chew like crazy, and I'm still quit after 926 days. I still do occasionally--especially when I'm in a big time craving mood. When I have that crap in there, I lose the thought of putting the real stuff in. Smokey Mountain and Oregon Mint Snuff are all that are available in my area, and I have a huge preference of SMC over the mint stuff any old day. I could order other brands online, but I hate waiting.

Happy quitting!

Smokey Mountain is a good one, a lot of guys like Grinds.  Chewie has write ups on all of them on the main page https://www.killthecan.org/your-quit/reviews/

Congrats on posting roll, Fenster, and welcome to one of the greatest communities you will find anywhere!  30 - 35 years of nicotine use is about where I was too.  It's hard to even imagine yourself as anything else but a tobacco user, isn't it?   But you will get there.  I know you can do it.  Because I did and I didn't have any magic fairy dust.   Just post your name, quit count, and promise not to use tobacco for the day.  And do that daily.  Take this thing one day at a time.  Sounds too simple to be true, but that is how we all got here.  Only way I could have made it to 1,154.

Think of this as a journey.  Get involved.  You can do this!

P.S. I think 69franx may have meant the line in my signature line below...  ;D :D

Just one and you will be back to where you started, and where you started was desperately wishing you were where you are now.

One of the best quotes I have read here on KTC Fenster is along the lines of " if you cave now, you will be right back where you were a week ago, when you were wishing you could be where you are now" not exact words but the spirit is there. You obviously want to quit, we can help you be quit. Follow Chris's advice above and get into December early each day and make your promise, keep your word, wake up and do it again

I am a long time chewer for 30 - 35 years. I have quit a couple of times before, the last time was around 2007 or 2008 when I managed to quit for 3 years before starting again.

I quit 1 week ago and have had a very difficult week. I found this site because I was looking for support.

Fenster

Welcome Fenster,

Congratulations on your decision to quit nicotine.  Head on over to your quit group December 2019 Pre-HOF Quit Group.  There you can post your promise to abstain from nicotine for the next 24 hours on the Roll Call post.

The process here is simple:

1. Post your promise to be nicotine free
2. Keep your word
3. Repeat Daily

We quit One Day At A Time (ODAAT) here.  We don't worry about tomorrow because all we can control is today.  Your previous stoppages are just that, stoppages.  This is where your quit begins.

Wake up, Piss, Post your promise (WUPP) Every damn day (EDD) means post your promise early in your day every day.  Weekends and holidays included.

Exchange phone numbers with other quitters in your group and some of the vets.  Use those numbers when cravings get rough.  Use those numbers the rest of the time, to get to know your fellow quitters and build those bonds of brotherhood and accountability.  Knowing that someone actually cares whether or not you succeed in your quit is a great motivational tool that helps keep me quit everyday.  I was a 3 tin a day dipper for over 30 years and I am now 609 days nicotine free.

You can do this, you just have to want it and you need to use the tools presented before you.

Proud to quit with you today,

Chris

Welcome Fenster, you are not alone, the struggle is hard but we fight it each day here.
First learn how to post roll; you are part of the Dec group:  we post roll daily, promise for 24hrs to not chew
https://ktcforum.org/index.php?topic=15827.0

Wander around the site and check out all the cool stories, I chewed for 18yrs and just made it 5 years. Next PM me if you want chat.
Lastly, you got this, stay strong chew isn't going to make anything better but start you over on wanting to quit.
