Welcome, @Chumpy17, to freedom from the death grip of nicotine.

If today is your Day 1, go to the July 2021 quit group and post your promise. Just a simple Chumpy17  Day 1. I promise not to use nic today.

If you've got a few days of solo quit under your belt, you're probably in the June 2021 quit group. Click the link for the group you belong to, get in there, and post up.

A few pieces of advice:

1. Read all you can on this site. It is a fount of information and experience. Not everyone's quit is the same, but there are definite commonalities, and you will find sound advice here.
2. Drink plenty of water. It helps with the cravings.
3. Find a new channel for the manic energy you're going to have surging at times. It may come out as anger, and when it does, come here. Don't take that shit out on anyone else. They don't deserve it. They didn't make you dip or smoke.
4. Prepare for mental fog long after the physical effects of withdrawal are gone. It's a bitch, but you can manage.

The most important thing I can tell you is to give your word early each day; it's called WUPP - Wake Up, Piss, Post. Once you do, KEEP YOUR WORD for 24 hours. We do things ODAAT here - One Day At A Time.

That's enough for now. You'll learn and figure shit out as you go, and I promise you'll hear from other quitters. The equation is simple: Brotherhood + Accountability = Success. It works.

Come on it, Chumpy. The Quit Water is fine.

In 41, I've been dipping for almost 20 years, I smoked for several years before that. I've been fighting this battle against nicotine for a long time.  I'm done. I'm here to hold myself accountable every day. I'm here to quit!!
