What a D-bag.  Talks so tough then cant even post roll for one day after complete strangers reach out to him and offer support.  Way to be an example for your son.
You just don't understand man. The nicotine cravings are just too much! I'm way more addicted than you are!

Happy Birthday. Awesome gift of freedom from nicotine you decided to give yourself. 1 day at a time. You can do it.

My name is Morris2013 and I'm an addict.

Today is my 40th birthday.  My gift to my wife, my sons and most importantly myself is my quit.

I've dipped for 14 years and there are probably less than 25 people that know about my addiction.  Does that sound familiar to anybody else?  I was ashamed of myself.  Probably because I didn't start dipping until I was 26 and should have known better.

Regardless, I'm taking control of this and taking it one day at a time.

I truly appreciate any support you can lend along the way.
Sounds very familiar. I'm 40, dipped for 16 years, less than 5 people knew (only I knew and the fucks that sold me the shit knew), and I started when I was 24.

I'll be honest. Quitting sucks, it's hard, and it's an hourly struggle. If it were not for this site, the guys on it, the Live Chat room at night, and reading the boards during the days I would not have made it past day 4.

Get names and numbers and use them just to say "I'm still quit", to vent, bitch, or to reach out to have someone talk you off of the caving ledge.

Yep. All sounds familiar. I started "older", dipped for 15 yrs and probably about 15 people knew about it and not ONE was a family member and none of them knew how deep the claws of nic were dug into me.

I knew though. I used to justify the FUCK out of it..."its my only vice", "At least I don't do drugs", "it's safer than smoking", etc...but in the back of my mind, I knew the shit could kill me and would often wonder "when will I ever quit this shit?" But then id just say fuck it and keep going, like a fucking idiot.

"Luckily" one day I got a weird sore on my lip and I freaked out and decided to quit, even though my lip was fine. Early on I thought that sore on my lip was the worst thing that ever happened to me. Now I know for a fact that sore was THE BEST thing that ever happened to me.

Quitting will be the best decision you ever make. It wont be easy but if you ever need anything, pm me anytime. I will advise you to read, read, read and read some more. Educate yourself on your enemy, it will help you fight it.

Start posting role and get this shit started. You got this!

Sure thing your story sounds familiar. I started in my teens and quit for 3 years and then started again when I was 26. Your right I knew better too but I am an addict and all it took was that 1 dip and I was right back at the dip troth. I've been an addict for 40 years and a dip free addict for the past 221 days. I have been here Every morning and made my promise. The daily promise and the brotherhood with my fellow quitters has kept me quit. Never under estimate the power of your addiction we are addicts and always will be!

You are making the best choice in your life. I have been dip free for 140 days and Im a new man. Amazng how a can controls your life. Without it,life is 100x better. To be honest, you must be tough. The first 6 days are pure hell. Keep yourself busy. After that,it gets much easier. Of course, there are good and bad days for me. Since my life is so better, I can funnel out the bad day or two. Go for it man. Good luck and I know you can do it.

Great job on taking your life back morris, tis the best thing you could do. Stay on this site as much as you can and read everything you can. You can do this. The first few days are rough as hell but, it's all worth it. Remember these days because you never want to re- live another day 1. I saw where you had posted roll in February but got bumped so I fixed that for you. Just go back first thing in the morning and do it again. Make posting roll the first thing you do. If you need anything feel free to pm me. I will help in any way that I can. I quit with you today!

Welcome Morris. Your story is like most of us here. You'll want to visit the Welcome Center and acquaint yourself with the surroundings. You should also go post roll in the February group. PM me if you need anything. Rely on this site. Read and post roll. Quitting sucks at first but the alternative is worse. Hang in there. I'll let some of the more seasoned members fill in where I have missed.
