Your body is going to do some wierd things over the next few months as you get all the poisons out of your body and your body adjusts istelf to the new you.

Dave is correct tho. No matter what just stay clean and you cannot imagine how good you will feel.

It does get better. I promise.

Legit Question, i'm on day 9 and my gums are tingling bad is this normal? i've been lucky with the other sympotms of quitting. just had one really bad night of insomnia but i blame it on the book i was reading. "World War Z" by Max brooks. awesome book. thanks for your support.
Yeah, sore gums, insomnia are both symptoms of quitting but it will pass in time.

Bronson,

Excuses are like a$$holes, we've all got them! The fact is, it's addictive strong stuff. But we can all beat it.

I'm sitting here with a face full of sunflower seeds on day 2. I haven't gotten any of the fake stuff so far. Sunflower seeds seem to do the trick for me, much better than gum. Try everything. Just find something that helps and get quit!

Best of luck,

Chase

Bronson - Congrats on your decision to quit. But make it happen TODAY!!! I post-poned quitting due to work stress for years...I could always tell myself that I'm quitting right after ____________________ (fill in the blank). I was good at making excuses, too...I dipped for 20 years!!!

I'm at Day 17....got a long way to go. The first two weeks SUCK. But remember, you're fighting for your life. Take it on full throttle. Embrace the SUCK...it is setting you free.

There is no other option. Read everything you can on this site. If you sincerely want to quit, you can do it. All you need to to make roll call and keep your focus and commitment.

Take it on!!!

tomorrow is marking the first day that i'm throwing my can in the river. yeah, i've gone days without chewing but relapse pretty quick. but winter is coming and it'd be nice to have a goal that's healthy. i work a job that has me operating heavy equipment and wrenching. my coworker chews and pretty much any job i have ever had has beenn the same way. is Bacc Off any good, i just ordered some, and think it might be a life saver. Anytime i've quit in the past the shit tonic plates always smack together and cause a shit quake at work. something comes up thats frustrating and gum doesn't cut it. I thank you for taking time to read this and advice would be awesome!
Bronson- First suggestion is throw that can to the shitter right now. Get some gum, seeds, fake snuff, whatever it takes.
Your going to have those moments at work and at home when you think that only a dip will take care of the problem.
When you get cancer and have your fucking jaw removed, will a dip take care of that problem????
Listen man, you're at the right place to make this happen. Read as much as you can on this site and listen to the advice people give you. Everyone here knows what your going through but guess what...Everyone here is QUIT!!! And you will be too!!

Man up and throw the can in the river right now! Why are you going to wait until tomorrow. Embrace the Suck! That is how your life will be for the first couple of weeks but a dip will not fix any of the problems going on. I have a stressful job as well just like most of us here and yes it seems eveything falls apart once you decide to quit. Actually things would or will still happen, your brain is rewiring itself to learn how to deal with these situations. You have always fell back on dip. I work with people who dip - smoke...it makes me sick to look at them now, to see that shit sitting in thier lip, not be able to talk without swallowing that nasty shit.

What you need to do is see that in this quit, you are going to take it one day at a time. Trust us all when we tell you it will get better!! The first couple of weeks will be hell. Hang in there and get whatever you need to keep that shit out of your mouth, except tabacco!

Man Up, Own Your Quit!

Post Roll as early as possible, this means you give us your word that you will not cave. Your group will be Jan. 2011
