Hi kroussey. I'm a long time addict myself, 34 years. You've made a great decision and I'm glad that you're here. There are a few things about KTC that you should know, now that you're here. We don't try to quit; we don't hope we can quit; we don't do luck. We quit. Period. We also don't use BS crutches that just service to keep us reliant on the poison. No gums, lozenges, chew 'lite', or any of that crap.
With that stuff out of the way, let's focus on what we do, and what does work. First and foremost, while you are quitting for you, we take this journey together. Get in there with your quit group (July 2015) and mix it up. These are the closest brothers and sisters that you will carry and who will carry you. To start, learn how to post roll, and then post it every day. Every. Damned. Day. First thing in the morning is best, so that you start the day affirming to yourself and to your quit group that you will not use nicotine in any form that day. This daily act, this promise to all of us, is a strong anchor that you can hold onto during the tough days ahead. Read everything that you can on this site - other intros, stories, words of wisdom, and so on. Forewarned is fore armed. Get phone numbers of several people in your quit group and outside of it. When you're really having a tough time, or just for support in general, it's crucial to have a few close brothers and sisters in quit to rely on for support. Hit me up with a PM if you'd like my number.
Make sure to load up with whatever is going to help you with the oral fixation of dipping - gum, life savers, seeds, fake dip, whatever it takes. Drink lots of water; LOTS OF WATER. If you're not peeing every time you pass a restroom, then drink more water. It helps to flush this crap out of your body. Exercise will also help.
Welcome to KTC. I quit with you today.
