I have dipped cope for 30 plus years. I tried to quit of a few occasions. This time I just quit. No trying!! Cold turkey. And no desire to start again.
Jesserobz,
You just got comments from two bad ass quitters. They have helped me in dark times.
I hate the tobacco industry. It is a cold hearted, dirty business. I was in its power for 21 years.
Like you I am an addict. Your quit is going to be hell. First the detox. That is only three to four days. Then the long battle of your brain and body functioning without the toxic poison it has been used to.
Fold your arms opposite of how you normally do or try to write with the opposite hand. It will just feel off and you will have to really concentrate to get in the groove.
You will have triggers that you must resist and your brain is going to rewire. It is all part of the process.
Suck-it from the June group taught me a phrase and told me to "Embrace the Suck."
Jess, it is going to suck. You are going to hurt both physically and emotionally. Look at it like you are very sick and you came to a hospital to heal. When it hurts, when you feel out of balance....Don't worry and don't surrender. Always remember you are healing.
I am 87 days quit. I had some dark days in this and I had some great days in this journey.
Looking back at my short journey....It is awesome to be quit!!!! The burden is lighter when you control your addiction. Chewing tobacco and letting your addiction rule your life is a greater burden and you are not free.
You just broke the shackles that enslaved you for years, now you have to walk through hell to earn your freedom.
It is worth it. Just never worry about tomorrow. Only focus and win your battle today. If you wake up tomorrow, you repeat. Make your promise to quit that day and that's all you worry about. Stay quit today. If you wake tomorrow post roll and repeat.
KTC process is simple and effective. If you follow the program with exactness, you will succeed in your goal to be freed from your vice.
