Well here I sit 4 days away from a year thinking about how easy this has really been. We all talk about the suck, cravings, dip dreams etc but when you look back it was really easy.

The hard part for me was deciding to quit. Every day I think about my quit when I look at my son and my wife. I know I have made a decision that will allow me to be with them longer.

I used gum, toothpicks, smokeymountain chew and even beef jerky to get me through the tough times. I still enjoy some beef jerky but
do not even want the nic shit anymore.

My breath smells better, my tastebuds have changed, my temper is longer. All in all I am a better man now that I have quit.

Like I said on one of my first post here ..... 'Finger' nic bitch!

Ok, I visited this board almost every day until I hit 100 in August. I did miss a few but not too many.

Sometime in September I "forgot" to come by, or I just didn't have the time, or it's no problem I've got this.

WRONG attitude. This place was crucial in my QUIT. I hit some lows during my first 100 days. Your mind really screws with you. I look back and I am very proud I never caved. I saw a good friend in a coffin, caving couldn't help me deal with it. I went on a long car trip, caving wouldn't make the trip faster. I went offroading, caving would have done nothing.

I realize I should be on here to reinforce my quit and help others with theirs.

I am Dip free and was told by another friend that I inspired him to throw down the can. He said he quit as soon as he found out I did. I let him know about the
site but have no idea if he will come over here or not.

Way to commit and honor your word.

We went to school together, drank beer together, went hunting together, chased women together etc etc.

Sorry to hear that. My buddy and Best man in my wedding comitted suicide the slow way by alchohol poisoning and it was really hard when he passed. You can and will get through this DIP FREE!
