I hope you come back JayJay. You and me are the exact same age, just 2 days apart. I don't know about you but 50 is right around the corner, and I sure don't want to be dipping at 50 relying on the same drug I did when I was 20, it's time to man up and get rid of the dirt for good.

Dude... you keep hovering in the background.

You know that just ends in another failure... right?

Be bigger than the weed. Man up.

Post. Roll.
Collectively, on this thread, you have addicts with over 4,000 days of win tallied up. One day at a time. All post roll. Daily.

This isn't a cult, dude. This is an addiction, and you can win. Why do you think those of us on this thread are spending so fucking much time practically begging you to do something completely free, that will take about 5 seconds a day once you get the hang of it? Because... it... works....

Post roll goddammit. That's the only way this works.
^^^ there is a reason you haven't quit before and why you came here!!!
I hope your daughters don't have to go through what you just did with your dad...
But you can hope in one hand and shit in the other and see what fills up first.
Earn it, prove it!
There are thousands of ways to lose at this addiction. So far, you've done fairly well at mastering how to lose. This isn't an insult by the way... we all lost for a long time. Years. Decades.

Now that you are here amongst a big ole group of winners, if you wanna win you've got some bad asses laying out the simple path to success. If you wanna lose, don't listen. But why you'd wanna feel like a loser in a room full of winners is baffling.

Post roll. 99%+ of failures/caves by members of this site can be attributed to one thing... they didn't post role. You are off to a good start. Fuel the fire. Post roll.

Where you be?

Lurking doesn't work, bro. Your yo-yo quitting fashion proves that. No punches pulled in this place dude... get involved and stay involved here or you're going to keep living the cycle you've been living all these years.

That's pathetic.

Jump in. Belong to a group. Post roll call and be accountable daily. Take... give. Quit.

You know you want it. You know you need to.

Do. It.
Own. It.

JJ.....

First things first; the way KTC works is by having members post their roll promise DAILY. Basically you are committing to a group of complete strangers (at least initially) that you're not going to use nicotine in any form that day. That one 24 hour period between the time you wake up and the next time you wake up. Then you honor that promise. Wake up tomorrow and repeat. Over time, if you reach out and become active in your quit group (January, 17), those strangers will become an extended family. Truly. Not kidding. Honest Injun. An Extended Family. There will be far fewer of them several months down the road than there are (that's just the natural attrition rate within this site).

Posting roll is the price of admission to the brotherhood. You need to go find your quit group, HERE, and join in the conversation and become part of the family.

More explicit roll posting guidance is shown in this YouTube Video. Thanks to D2Maine for the work he did in putting that video together.

So....if you want to experience success in your quit (not saying you can't do this solo, but it's a LOT easier quitting with a group of like-minded individuals), jump in with both feet. January 17 is waiting for you....

JJ, I bury a lot of people... for I am an undertaker.

I understand your pain and RDB is right. Your father's death will subside in time, if you go thru the common stages of grief. Most importantly, you need to do this for yourself and only YOU can walk this road. (we can support you)

I chewed for over 25 years... stupidest thing I ever did to my body....

I quit with you today.... and Thank you... you came to the right place, you told your story... that took balls.

I'm sorry for your loss.

Something that it took me a log time to realize is that I am an addict. When I was an actively using addict, I didn't understand that the negative consequences of using were very much a part of the addiction.

To cut to the chase - you can't quit for your girls, and you can't quit because of cancer. You have to quit because you want to be quit. You have to quit because you are sick of the slavery.

Some day the shock of your father's death will subside, and your addict brain will try to convince you to start up again. Cancer be damned. I promise, you will have a better shot at fighting the urge to stuff your face with cat shit if you're selfish, and you're quit because you want it for yourself first.

Welcome, and I'm proud to quit with you. Find your January '17 quit group, and post your promise.

I'm done
« on: October 08, 2016, 11:16:00 PM »
I've lurked here for probably seven years and have probably quit that same number of times. I had my last chew yesterday at 5:32 pm on my way to my mom's house to help her tie up some loose ends following my dad's death two weeks ago from complications of tongue cancer from 50 years of smoking (with the occasional chew worked in.) I'm done. I have four girls under the age of 17, the youngest 7. I need to be here for them, and I'll be damned if I'll do myself in from a shitty self serving habit. I welcome your support and I offer whatever I have to give.
