I feel giving up dip is like letting a good friend go. I can't picture my life with out it. Do these feelings fad after time?
I know what you mean, and yes it does get better, but try this analogy, I think it works better.

Dip is more like that crazy ass ex-girlfriend you had sometime back in your early 20's. Yes, she may have had a smoking body, and was a freak in bed, but she was also a freak in all other aspects of life. She was jealous of friends, jumped your ass over nothing, and then, when you tried to get rid of her, she tried to kill you. You said you left for good, then a pregnancy scare came along, and all of a sudden you terrified that you would be tied to the bitch for life.

This is the nic bitch. She tricks you with the buzz, but she's really trying to kill you. Sure, you want a taste, but it fades with time. Sometimes, especially when drinking, you may want to climb back into her arms, but just know, even with what you think will only be a one stand stand, she'll be back in your life for longer, trying to kill you all over again. Worse still, she could impregnate you......with carcinogenic cells......and cancer will be with you for life......and death.

Best bet, stay away. You'll move on and find out how great life is without her.
EXACTLY !!!!!!!

red's analogy is a good one. There is absolutely no redeeming value of chew. It destroys lifes, families, bank accounts, etc. However, I get what you mean.

I had a hard time picturing doing anything without chew because I did EVERYTHING with chew for 26 years. If I wasn't sleeping or eating I was chewing (sometimes even these activities didn't keep me from chewing). Nearly a year later and there are still "firsts" I encounter but I can honestly say I have found nothing that wasn't more enjoyable without the lip turd. Hang tough. Take it a day at a time and trust me.....It does get better. Every day it gets better.
choice......quitting for today is a choice.....

bottom line, this site will reinforce your choice to not have any nicotine today.....you are joining a group of people....just like you.....fighting the same battle.

there was a time, i did not feel in control of my choice....i resented it.....

no longer.....choose to quit today....and do not fail.

spend some time reading....hof speeches, group discussions, get to know your brothers......everything you need to gain control of your choice is here......

choose to find it and join us.....we will win.

well, I have had a few good friends in my life who I have let go. I got a little choked up when my college roomate moved away, we shared a lot together. It was tough breaking up with a couple of my girlfriends too.
And I still miss my grandfather every now and again.
But I have always moved on to other things.

My point is that in time you will move on. We all do. Dip was a friend (albeit it an evil one) and was a part of your life. But so were your grade school friends, high school friends, college friends etc etc.

You can and will find other friends, like you always have. I can't tell you how long it will take, that varies for everyone, but you will move on.
a strange game. the only winning move is not to play
