Out of curiosity....Anyone have or know of others w similar experiences that went for the screening and it was found to be something else?
Get it looked at so you can relax. I work in the medical field but since I am not a Ear Nose and Throat doc who specializes in oncology, I would be only guessing also. See you been quit a while, awesome. I am new, neck and lymph nodes hurting, swollen. Course they are probably just crying for some nicotine to make them hush.....Best of luck
Thanks janedoe, I know all about the neck and nodes feeling. Whatever you do stick with your quit. Use this site, it is an extremely valuable resource for staying on track. A lot of good people on here that have or are experiencing the struggles you will encounter. I quit with you One day at a time

Planning to make a dental appt for a screening. I dread it but know it's something j need to man up and confront. Other than the receding gums i've known about lumps in lip for awhile not sure if to some degree that's normal. I've had fellow dippers say it's just glands in the past and for some stupid reason took that as a pass. Yesterday I was feeling around and found one tender but under the surface down in the pocket where cheek meets gums. I will never touch that poison again and will do my part in helping others steer clear of it.

34 days no Kodiak is a blessing indeed but anxiety and fear can be debilitating. How normal is it to fell tightness in the neck, typically left side? Is this part of detoxing the body or possibly not related. It's not like a sore throat/esophagus, seems to be outside either node or muscle related. Of course everything on Google has to mention cancer which is obviously cause for concern. Weird thing about it up until I quit I never noticed it. Not an option for me but I'm Not going to lie, I have wondered if I just put a dip in maybe it will go away I do have an annual exam scheduled for next Tuesday.

Im still trying to figure out this site. Is roll call just for posting roll or isit for comments as well?
Hey Bro.. Take Rdad's advice.

Regarding the sight yes you can post comments with your brother and sisters in May. And or you can post comments here. This into page is yours like a personal journal to help you remember your quit and suck. It also helps those reading.

Regarding the throat... I had problems swallowing in the beginning because my muscles were freaking out. I would go run and drink water... That helped. What didn't help was sitting still, like watching TV or a movie.
I would hang in there and see the doctor Tuesday. If your really concerned go see a doctor now. It will ease your mind. And don't worry about the money..... We are talking about saving your life.

When I was like 40, I had a new company and too many employees, thought something was wrong with my heart for weeks.... I finally just walked in to emergency room, thought I was having a heart attack... 2 hours of test, all good... Nervous gone, doctor told me to go run...

A dip, will not help it... It will only make your anxiety worse because of the regret....
Your climbing over a wall, stay on it, don't look down.. Keep your head up one small hand in front of the other. You are doing good and every day you are closer to being free of anxiety and fear...
81 days my fear has been replaced with a smile, Confidence and a new identity that honestly is crazy cool.

You can do it.. We're all right here with ya.

I'm the furthest thing from a doctor Wooly. But I can tell you I went through some weird shit in the beginning while my mind and body were healing. Plus not everything is dip related. See your Doctor, but I can tell you having a dip sure as hell wont solve anything!

Awesome job Wooly!

Keep it going man, and don't ever look back. Shut the door on that bitch, and keep marching on to your freedom!
Excellent Wooly! That's the last time you will ever have to do the first month! Keep going! You got this.

How you doing wooly?
Today is day 25 your first quarter to a hundy. How are wife and kids digging dad without poison?
I'm feeling good with the quit. Wife and kids didn't know I was dipping which makes me feel like crap that 1) I was doing it 2) I was hiding it and 3) putting my life, health, and relationship in jeopardy for that crap. Wish I would have stayed strong 4 years ago and resisted the offer. I surely never thought caving in and saying yes would lead to 4 years of poisoning myself.

When you quit did you experience soreness in your throat?
Hey Wooly, glad to see you hanging in there! My gums and throat were pretty well healed up and no longer sore around the HOF. YMMV tho! Just keep going. Its gets so much better.
Hof? Ymmv?

Thanks for reply rdad

YMMV-Your mileage may vary on how fast your mouth feels normal again.
Ahh thanks. Wow 100 days to heal....guess that makes sense given the number of days spent damaging the mouth and throat. Your words and reading other people's intros help big time with controlling the anxiety over possible health issues... Google searches surely don't help anxiety but def help with the quit.

Thanks again for the input!
Wooly
Congrats on the quit, you're doing g great! I hear you on the anxiety bud. I had it so bad that for the first time in my life I was having panic attacks after looking at Google and/or cancer pics on ktc. I had convinced myself I had it. Every little sore in my mouth or sore/tight throat literally had me in tears. It was awful! Good news is it gets much better!! Folks on here suggested that I go to the dentist if I was that concerned. I was terrified but after quitting it was the best decision I've made. Totally puts.the mind at ease. Keep up the good work and glad to quit with ya!!!!!
Thank you for your post, definitely helps when you know others have had the same experience. Google has done the same to me... Looked at tons of pics and read lots of things that had me worried.
