Welcome to the asylum Norrisae, couple pieces of advice.

1. You/we are Nicotine Addicts, I repeat addicts therefore you treat this like an addiction. I know that sounds obvious but for me it wasn't and although I am a bit thick in the skull I doubt I am the only person who ever missed this. When I realized that this was an addiction and treated it as such my quit began.........

2. We quit (ODAAT) One Day At A Time here at KTC. We don't worry about tomorrow, next week, next month or next year. We worry about the day or the minute of our quit if needed and that is all.

3. Drink the KTC Koolaid it will be your salvation from the Nic Bitch!

4. Post Roll Daily, be a man of your word and win this battle with us.

Welcome
I quit drinking and using dope 04/02/2005 so I fully accept my status as an addict. ODAT was the only way I quit then; when I thought about longer periods of time ("how can I stay quit the rest of my life?") I'd get overwhelmed, say F**k It!, and relapse. BTW, I think quitting alcohol and dope was easier than quitting Cope! :) Thanks for the support.
What's your story Norrisae? If you don't mind, tell us a little about yourself. When you started, how many cans per day/week, etc. Good to have you here. There's a fair amount of guys on this site that have quit the booze and the dope already and are finishing off the trifecta with nic. PM me if you need anything.
Sorry for the late reply...

Started smoking 15 years ago. Smoked a pack a day for the better part of that time. Started dipping about the same time. Dip was a way for me to concentrate while studying and I could dip inside (unlike smoking). Tried to quit nicotine when I quit drinking and using! Bad idea - was advised not to try until I was sober 2 years...seven years later I was still a hostage of the nic bitch. After several failed attempts (gum, patches, e-cigs, Chantix), I found this site. This is the longest I've been free of nicotine since I was 18. Like I hear in meetings, it's not always easy but it's pretty damn simple. Total abstinence from nicotine, making myself accountable to y'all by posting roll, and exchanging PM's, texts, etc. is the only thing that has worked for me.

QLF ODAAT EDD!

Mr. Skoal, what you have just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

This is a great group of guys/gals who are here to support you in any way that they/we can. Reach out to people and get phone numbers (as weird as it sounds) so you have someone to text/call when you're having a craving.

Everyone here knows how much it sucks, but we're all quitting with you.

Plus, you posted 24 hour time; I think we'll get along just fine!
