Didn't even think about taking a dip last night! One more night of studying and then the weekend! On a roll now and I feel great

Three tests coming up for the rest of the week Wed, Thur, Fri and have hours of studying to get done. This was the prime time for my dipping habits and "helped" me concentrate and work for longer periods of time. Gonna need all the support I can get and I will definitely have my web browser open to the forums.
College - time to ready the defenses bro and review your quit plan.
Pull out the hooch, get and use your digitz, use site for breaks, fasten shock collar around your scrotum (they make small ones for teacup breeds), and juice/nuts to keep the eye boggles at a minimum. You're coming out of the hardest part. Don't slip up and fail your quit. U got this.
Shock collar? Sounds scary.

You got this College. Everytime that nic bitch whispers in your ear while you're studying just tell that cunt to FUCK OFF!

I have used it before, got a nice 5 can sampler pack online. Came with mint, wintergreen, cinnamon, spearmint, and cherry, love the cinnamon. Definitely helps if you get an intense craving which usually only lasts 5-10 minutes, the Jake's gets you through that.

The reason I say I'm saving it for last resort is that I feel as though it is way too similar to the real thing and I want to completely clear my mind of anything dip related including the opening of a can, grabbing a pinch, and putting it in my lip (even if it is only Jake's).

I was gonna get some jakes mint chew, but ended up going with a different brand. I think because they had a good sampler deal, and they're local (I'm in Washington state)

Have you tried the jakes mint chew yet or just have the can as a last resort? I'm interested in what a fellow (recently quit) dipper thinks of it. It's got reviews on here by Chewie, but someone who is right in the thick of that first week fight to me seems like a more valid review.

And just to make it clear, I better see your name on tomorrow's roll call list

Seems like college kid and usmcnick should team up exchange numbers since you guys can relate. I'm in the same preHOF class (may) as you guys so PM me too if you want to exchange numbers. I'll text you bugging why I dont see your name on roll call and you can do the same for me.

Collegekid are you using a subsitute for the dip? a lot of guys reccomend BaccOff or smokey mountain chew. I've been using mint dip from the oregon mint snuff company.

A lot of guys swear by gum (never did much for me and NOT nicorette gum, or vets will come down hard on your ass), or fireballs, or sunflower seeds (very popular choice, too much salt for me).

So get a can of fake dip so you can have that in your lip and not a chew. Get on here a lot. There's lots of good stuff to read. A lot of funny shit on here too that will keep you distracted.

I'll be lookin for your name on roll call tomorrow morning.

Hey dude, going through a similar situation in that my roomate/ everyone I am in class with dips incessantly (military class). Roomate got the talking to, but dip will always be at class. Since there's no way around it showing up for us every day, we're gonna have to be steadfast and dedicated. Good luck my man

Thanks guys, talked to my roommate today and let him know what the deal is. Don't want to see any cans and spitters and that if I do see a can it may magically end up down the toilet. Can't really do much about him chewing in the common areas other than look at him and think to myself "man, I am stronger than him/look how stupid and disgusting he looks/sucking on cancer" by clouding my mind with these negative thoughts/feelings it really eliminate any urge to even thing about taking dip.

72 hours down! I GOT THIS SHIT!!

Hello everyone
« on: February 21, 2012, 07:09:00 AM »
Hey guys, just wanted to say I have been coming to the site for a while now but never really decided to create an account. Finally made that decision, along with the decision to QUIT dip and not just stop/take a break.

I have only really been seriously dipping for about two years now, maybe less. But my addiction got to full speed almost immediately. What really got me hooked was working at a golf course this summer, 9 hours a day, from 5am-2pm. I went from dipping only once a day right after lunch break, to buying a new tin on my way home from work at 2 just to make it through the rest of the day, and it became a regular habit to take a huge dip to "relax" after a long day at work, even though I had already killed a tin by that point in the day.

I have tried to take "breaks" a few times in the past, with the idea in my head that I would dip again in the future and only seriously tried to Quit once by myself. I think the major issue I have had with quitting in the past is the environment I am in at college/roommate. To give you an idea about my roommate, he killed 16 tins in the first two weeks of the semester and hasn't slowed down since. There are constant spitters, tins, etc laying all over the place. The way I failed my Quit the first time was sneaking a pinch out of one of his tins laying out in our family room and now that he buys in logs there is no way that he would notice. I constantly have to battle the urge and trigger since they are right in front of me all the time, and have to be on guard for when he asks "want a dip?"

Just wanted to give everyone a good idea about my situation and finally comment on the forums. Any advice, comments, etc. for encouragement, how to deal with my roommate, or anything else you may have would be greatly appreciated. Day 3 of the quit and I really feel as though I have the mindset this time to QUIT for good and I'm ready for the challenge.
