Lots of great reflections in that intro, the first being the addict admission. Most like to think of nicotine use as a habit...well it's an addiction and you nailed it. With that said, check out the blurb above, question for you...what if we don't give you help and support, would this be your last dip ever? or is your quit contingent upon a bunch of strangers helping you? Just think about that for a second...who are you quitting for, you? ...or for us?

The answer is you need to quit for you, and only you. YOU gotta want this more than anything in your life, regardless of what you garnish from this site. If you want to be like us, then this is your first lesson in thinking like us. Now, I can promise you, if you post roll and become active here (i.e. read, post roll, comment on intros, exchange numbers with people, READ) the return on your investment is invaluable. We will quit with you, absolutely. My point is just to make sure that you do this for selfish reasons...always quit for you and we will always quit with you.
I am quitting for myself. What I meant by the words that you quoted, was that I've tried countless times quitting alone, and it hasn't worked yet. Yes, I do need someone, even a stranger, to hold me accountable, because I'm not doing it. I'm an addict. I'm weak alone. I'm not motivated for someone, but at times I will need to be motivated by someone.
Hey, I'm just trying to exemplify a point - the importance of quitting for who's number one. I totally get the failure piece of it....we all do. Every person here has probably lost count of the number of times they tried and failed on their own; that's why the accountability and brotherhood we gain here changes the game. Keep it up bro, stay active, and know that we are right beside you.

Stillamarine, Dea, Old Dog New Tricks, EOD 1, Macamania, and rdad, thank you all very much for your post and support. I would appreciate a pm with an email address that I can contact when the internet is down. I will surely need someone to post roll for me occasionally. When I return to the states next year I will have to call/txt all of you. Thanks again.

Welcome to the group. Just be sure to post roll and steer clean the nic bitch. I quit when I was in the air force once. Been back at it for 16 years since. Quit now and stay quit. I firmly believe there is nothing that can force us to cave other than ourselves.
Welcome to KTC Salt and thank you for your service! Macamania is totally correct. Not dipping today is a choice. Well done on posting roll. I am happy to be quit with you guys today!

Greetings. I am an addict. I have been a dipper for 19 years. I had a dip yesterday, and only with your help and support, it will be the last I ever have. I'm here to listen and follow the advice of people who have been quit for a while and know what they're talking about. I want to be like you. I want to never dip again.

I want to be a non-dipper longer than I've been a dipper. I'm 31, I have several years to go to accomplish that, but with your help and support, I'm sure we can make it happen.

I am currently deployed and internet goes down a lot, although email usually works. If there are a couple dedicated people who I could email to post roll for me, that would mean a lot. I look forward to getting to know everyone.
Salt,
You have come to the right place to quit. I would like to start by thanking you for your service. We have a few Vets in our group. As you can tell StillaMarine is and I am a 14year USAF E.O.D Vet. Now for the good stuff. I will PM you with some support information. This group you just joined has some of the best people I have ever met. They truly have hearts of gold and will help you get through this. Just stay with it and it does get easier.

Hi Salt. Welcome brother. You can email or PM me. I sent you a private message with my number. Check your mailbox (click on Inbox in upper right corner of screen). I've been dipping for 38 years and am now almost 3 weeks clean. If I can do this, you can absolutely do it.

Proud to Quit with you brother. Stay close to Stillamarine. He's a bad-ass quitter and can show you the ropes.

Hi there-
I am only on day 2- finishing up 24 hours!! It hasn't been a walk in the park... but I just wanted to share with you that it is actually easier than I thought it would be for one reason: the support here is spectacular! I can't give you any great grains of wisdom from being clean for years and years... not yet at least!... but I can tell you that you DO have the stones to do this. We all do. We just need to believe that it can be done. It can't be easy being deployed and fighting this- but just remember how many people are right there with you!

Brother you got this. You'll have us assholes keeping up with you. I know how difficult it will be on deployment. I swear we lived on dip and ripits. Get some seeds or get some family to send you some. I'm going to give you my email on pm. Email me anytime.
No day but today.
