Sign up and post...........quitting is never easy, but this site will make quitting ALOT easier. I stumbled in here with a sleepless, toothache one night, and 34 days later I am damn thankful I did. You will have to quit at some point in your life and its not going to be any easier than now. Start today and get the ball rolling.
a strange game. the only winning move is not to play

Nicotine is the problem!! To be clean you must stop ingesting all forms of it. It is going to suck, read what I send you on what to expect when you quit.

If my weak willed ass can do this so can you. Do you WANT to do this ??

When you are done ingesting Nicotine in all its forms you can post roll ( I sent you instructions) make sure you are clean when you post. After you post you cannot use nicotine in any form that day...

We are ready to help...when you are ready to quit.

Hey Ready, thanks for the email and the post. As far as my wife, I have figured out different ways so that I do not direct rage towards her. She is a trooper through this process, and I know very well that she had nothing to do with me getting started. It was my own fault and I think that is what makes me so mad. I am just grateful for her support through all of this. As far as the day that I quit using dip would have been September 21, 2010. I think that I have gotten over the oral fixation of having a dip in my mouth, and now I am fighting the nicotine. I am thinking of taking up boxing in order to get out some aggression. I have to say that I am really lucky to be in a country currently that does not sell dip...that helps a bunch! If I was state side I know that this fight would be 100 times harder. I am committed to quitting, for my wife's sake and my life!

If YOU want to quit YOU will. Nobody can do it for you. Cold turkey is the only way. Quit all forms of nicotine, post roll every day, and keep your word. Vent when you need to, but stay on this site, read all you can, stay strong.

Wow. This all certainly sounds farmiliar.

I applaud your wife for finding this site and directing you here, but the only way you will truly quit is if YOU want to. Not for her, but for you. She can help support you but you will not quit for her. Trust me as a 20+ year dipper myself I made and broke more promises to quit than I care to remember. You must WANT to quit, if you do then you will.

Your reactions to withdrawl are very normal and well documented. Here is some information that may help. What to expect when you quit Realize that by replacing dip with smokes you are merely changing the delivery system of the actual drug which is nicotine.

I will send you some information to your inbox (1 ).

You have to want to quit more than anything else in your life right now. Yes, that's what it will take. It will get better, but for now, things will be pretty bad. Nicotine is nicotine is nicotine. You must get off all of it. Period. Cold turkey.

There are volumes and volumes of information on this site. If you are willing to put in the time and make the effort, this is the premier site to quit.

Rage will happen for awhile. There are ways to combat it. Bottom line, embrace it. Realize that nicotine is doing this and you ultimately did it to yourself. So, don't take it out on your wife or work. They didn't shove that shit in your face, you did. Come on this site and rage. Post whats going on and people will help.

If your word of Honor means anything, you can do this.

In need of advice
« on: October 24, 2010, 09:15:00 PM »
Hey all,

My wife found this website and suggested me visit. I have been dipping for almost 16 years now. At my worst I was up to 3 cans a day. Currently I am in a unique situation where we are currently living, and they do not sell the can but on a base near here. I have had moments of weakness to the point that I want to find a service member and sweet talk them into supplying me with some dip. So far I have been able to resist the urge. My problem is, since I have not had a dip now for more than 5+ weeks, I have turned to cigs to cut the edge. I do not like smoking, it gives me headaches, but like I said it takes the edge off of things. I am trying to make the rest of our stay here a nice one, but I go into rages, hence cig time, just to control my anger. I do not want to lash out at my wife, and she knows that this is a struggle for me. I have tried the patch but my body does not like that and breaks me into a rash. The good ole gum is a little weak for me as well. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I might can do to help control my rage sprees? I want to quit for my wife, I have told her this and that this is the only reason that I am trying to quit. I guess deep down I would like to kick the habit as well, but for right now she is my driving reason, which is a strong one!

I just don't know what else to do, I have associated dip with everything in my life, from working on the computer, school, driving, walking, watching t.v., you name it. Oh, I have also gone through 2 different "smoker sensation" classes...I love that they have medical support groups for smokers but not for the dippers. Okay, enough of my rambling on. I look forward to interacting with you all and hope that some of you can relate and give me some suggestions as to what I can do.

Many thanks!!
