I can see where you guys are coming from, however I will not start again. This is why I joined here, to stay Nic free. I'm not saying it's for everyone but it's working for me sofar. I was chewing alot, 3 cans a day Skoal Mint LC. I'm on Day 12 and counting.

How do I find my group post? Still need to read more.
3 cans a day---Holy Fuck! I thought I was bad.....Anyway what ever you got to tell yourself to stay quit (Because of Doctor, Girlfreind, Wife All three...whatever) stay quit----right now go to February quit group and sighn up, Do it every day. Does not matter why--As much as your quit today! We will have several days, weeks months, years to discuss why--
Good Job Brother!
3 cans??? What the Fuck!! Sounds like you were dipping in your sleep too!

My brothers are correct when they say you need to do it for yourself. However, what ever it takes to motivate you works too. Keep it going, you can do it.

STAY STRONG-STAY QUIT!!

Hello all,

Well this has been the hardest thing I have done in a long while. I have been quit for 1 Week, 1 Day, 20 hours, 23 minutes and 34 seconds. My Quit Date was 10/27/2010 8:00 PM. The reason is shoulder surgry this month. The doctor doesnt want any nic in my system. I'm on Chantix and although it seems to help, it's no fun. I hope to never again start this habit.

I think that most of the vets on here will tell you that this is a bad plan. Quitting due to surgery is a bad plan for quitting. What happens after the surgery is most important - to continue to stay quit. You have left a door open for failure here. "OK, the doc's are done, time to dip again"

Don't "want" around here, Do, find your group post roll and get involved and QUIT.
Hey man
Thats awesome you quit but I have to agree with scooners. You need to quit for you not your gf,wife, kids or surgery. Stay strong when you get out of surgery remember you dont need that shit for anything.

Man get off that chantix that shit is bad news replacing one habit for another.
cold turkey is the only way.

It's not a bad plan. I only quit because I was having gum surgery. I used this excuse as springboard to throwing the shit out. That was 590 days ago.

As long as you are committed to doing this, then fine, but you know if you are quitting temporarily like I use to do before say taking a piss test for an insurance exam then it's bad. that's what the guys were trying to say. it's gotta be for yourself and you gotta want it.

take it one day at a time.

Chantix is ok because it does not contain nicotine. most of us have quit totally cold turkey. any nicotine replacement therapy is strictly forbidden but Chantix is accepted.
