I am going to ramble here, because I can't freakin' sleep and I regret YELLING my ass off on July roll about my views on casual or inconsistent roll posting. I use roll everyday to get fired up, and like the energy it brings to my quit and each day. I am not a particularly angry individual though. Now on to Donkey's HOF prep question if the day.

Was just thinking about the final straw, or that thing that made the most difference in getting me to KTC and committing to quit ODAAT. I actually had in my mind that today, July 11, would be my 100 day mark. I didn't count. Today is exactly 3 months from my quit date and I'm fucking proud of that. It's also the day I started the job I've been in for 13 years and believe, at times, that I love, and at others, that crushes my soul (not an important detail).

The thing is, I started this quit for real because I am an addict. I always said I can quit and sometimes I have for really long periods of time. But each previous cave, I was right back in it. Still, I'd tell myself,"I don't dip that much and I can stop." But I don't.

I am the kind of person that seeks out addictive behaviors. I have 2 sons diagnosed with ADHD. And in helping them deal with their behaviors and tendencies, I realized and accepted that I have ADHD, too. Restlessness, impulsive decision-making and ADDiCTION are common ADHD tendencies. I love to play sports and games and know they are healthy ways to take small risks. Being an adddict though, not a small risk. And not one that I can contain, or one that I want to hide.

GOOD MORNING Quitters of July!!!

We have no stops scheduled for today so I would like to ask all of you a question....What was the straw that broke the camel's back for you? What was it that finally made you say " ok I have to quit and now is the time"? I hope to get alot of good answers from all of you about this....I will start. It was that moment when my twelve year old son came home with a can of jerky chew and said "now I can be like u dad". That was a very low point for me....What have I done? Showed my son how to slowly kill himself? I hope he is smarter than I! Look forward to hearing your answers!

Well Justin, mine is well documented in my Intro and HOF speech, but my Mom passing too soon from cancer was the straw for me. I love hearing answers from this kind of question, so come on July!

Remember this Patriots, Be vigilant in your quit. 100 days is a milestone, and not a destination. Keep the focus!

MISSING OR LATE JULY PATRIOTS!!!!

July '17 Patriots:
Richard K 471 with those of the Patriots that actually give a shit!!!!

Support from other Bad Ass Quitters:
Ariana 135 - The last straw for me would be witnessing my nana passing away from cancer.. HUGE eye opener!!
B--rad 115 with the posting patriots!!!

25-year addict. This is day 1 of my quit. Ready to post roll.
My day 1 introduction was short. Here's why: This is the first time I've admitted to being an addict, to anyone. Ever.

I dipped Kodiak Wintergreen long-cut, on and off for 25 years, and almost every day for the last 10. Started when I was in high school (sports, road trips, partying in the woods). Used to think it was fun back when I was younger. Felt like I was killing it whenever I was dipping. Thought it helped me focus. Didn't give a fuck and that felt awesome then.

Now I'm 41. Been married for 10 years but with my partner for 20 years. At some point, I started to believe that by dipping I had a sense of freedom that would help me avoid a full-blown midlife crisis and stay married. I've always lied about dipping to my wife, and either hid or denied it to most anyone else. But I'm a dumb ass, a bad liar and a forgetful SOB. So I've never been able to hide it. Lying about dipping gave me license to lie about everything and usually for no good reason. While trying to pull out of a cycle of wrecking my marriage with ridiculous lies, I realized that I learned to lie about dipping and now I do it everywhere.

Like a lot of you, I've thrown a dozen plus tins out my window as hard as a could and said, "that's the last one." Never really committed. Before my quit, I cruised through KTC before. But, I admitted to myself that I'm addicted to chewing tobacco and that I have to quit for myself. I came here 28 days ago, read so many stories that echoed mine and realized I can be honest with you all one day at a time. And I don't want to dip anymore.

Thanks, Hatelyn for the support! Staying strong today. Getting my bike out today. Never dipped while riding either. Yesterday, I started hucking a bouncy ball at the wall as hard as I could. That helps, too. Mike1996, rock on with the exercise. Thought about buying a boat-load of candy earlier, your post changed my mind. Thanks, dude.
Quit smells strong in here....
Avoid the past and future.
Stay focused on today.

We are in the same group I'm at day 7 so I have just experienced what you are in at the moment. Stay active buy you a bike and ride. I choose to do this cause I never dipped while riding and it is a great stress reliever. Stay in there congrats on day 2
Great advice Hatleyn!
Forgive me for reposting one of my previous posts if you've already read it, but I'm too tired to be original right now :) I'm a big believer in aerobic exercise being helpful at taking the edge off withdrawal and a great way to fill the void left behind by nicotine addiction.

Aerobic exercise is great way to take the edge off of withdrawal. IÂ’ve been alternating between running and bike riding in the last 6 months. In the coming days and months youÂ’ll start replacing the void left with nicotine with something. I, like a lot of people, in the beginning of my Quit, replaced it with junk food and gained 15 pounds. Better than to be hooked on nicotine but stillÂ… some of my quit brothers from July 16 hit the gym instead and lost weight.

There's a lot of info on the web on the effect of aerobic exercise on withdrawal.

Exercise Away the Urge to Smoke

Also, google "the effects of aerobic exercise on the brain" Once you start getting old and forgetful like me, those articles will start to sound pretty interesting.
Just one and you will be back where you started.
And where you started was desperately wishing
you were where you are right now.

I see you made it over to roll already. Take some time, read about others quit, and trade some digits. You got this
