Day 30 and I had a fucking cave dream last night. That is two so far. My boss is a long time Cope addict and cannot believe that I have made it this far. He keeps asking me why I am not bugging him about quitting. The way I see it, this is something you have to choose to do and his quit is not my choice. Is it hard seeing him pack a fatty in? Is it hard knowing that a fresh can of Cope is sitting on his desk all day? Yes it is. Do I really give a shit? No I don't bitch because this is my quit. He asked my how I am doing it and I told him that the answer is very simple, I choose not to dip today. Thanks for the support all.
Bravo my friend... well done. It only gets better.

Hucklebuck357,
You intro brought back memories. I progressed the same way from Gold River, to Hawkin, to Skoal and then eventually to Cope. I remember thinking that Hawkin was somekind of "Fake dip" because it was so sweet. You know those times were good...but not because of the dip...but because we were young. I wish someone would have been around to kick our ass and make us stop. Welcome to the Suck! You can do this...we can help.
Life takes practice...practice every day!

Yeah those are some old skool brands fo sho. We used to make belt buckles out of the lids in junior high shop class.

Cant find a picture of the original Conwood chewing tobacco pouch, was all white with a big ass gold tobacco leaf on the front. Hell I almost forget my stint with Levi. Chewed this shit out of that for about a year. I could spit completely across a 4 lane highway. No shit!

Man I tell you what, I have been in the Army for almost 20 years now and dippin for at least 25 or 26.  My story started in 5th grade with a pack of Conwood chew.  I progressed to Gold River because in junior high, dip was ii, chew was for old people.  I got a bug up my ass for Hawkin and eventually I was hooked on Skoal like the big kids.  Moved to North Georgia and my older step-brother was a Cope man.  Didn't take long to fall in love with that stuff, someone is always out and once your on the Cope, nothing else will do.  That was 23 years ago and I was already emptying a can day without any help from my brother.  A few weeks ago I just decided I was done with this shit.  My son is 9 and had been asking a lot of questions.  He probably wont be as big a redneck as his daddy but that boy has potential.  I would hate to see him start.  I gotta set a better example I think.  So I call the local AirForce base here in Tampa, FL and they have a program for smokers to quit.  Hell, why not, couldnt hurt.  So I registered and went through the classes.  They put my on this stuff called Chantix, normally for smokers, and after the second week I threw my can away.  Look guys, it is not that fuckin easy, I still want to dip, hell, that is how I found ya'll.  I got the Hooch on order and found a cigar shop here that sales Smokey Mountain Classic.  Cant handle that wintergreen crap.  Talk about irony, I have to goto a tobacco shop to help me quit tobacco.  Long story short, there is just not that much attention out there on quiting smokless tobacco like there is with smoking.  Even sitting here on the back end of day 8, I am hurting bad.  You guys will probably get tired of hearing my shit.  I just wanted to thank ya'll for taking the time to be here and support us.  Hopefully one day I can return the favor.

Fuck that shit...... You want to quit, stay close to this sight, rack up a fuckload of days wo dip and you won't want to turn back.....
Dip is a waste of life $$$ and time, all limited resources...

I'm sure you have spit out a sweet boat or new truck in your days, ducked out on family events, and put a beating on your jaw.
