I never realized dip could help you breathe since it's been choking me for years.

I'm only a few days ahead of you in my quit. Stay strong. Roll call helps.

Get through the craving of the first few days and... Stay quit!

Is wanting to shoot the progressive commercial "discount" girl a side effect of quitting or is she really just that annoying?

My names jason

To start their is a need for me to go ahead and apologize for all spelling/grammar/stupidity errors that I shall make in my stay at this wonderful website.

I am fairly brash person, up until about 9 hours ago (est) I would of spit on your boots just to amuse myself and because you looked at me funny when I took my grizzly out. At the moment I will spit some concoction of kudzu and tabasco sauce just because your near me.

Unlike many "dippers" my story started out when I was 21. Not because I wanted to be cool or fit in. I did it to breath. If I had of been in better shape the large rat turds would of never met my lip. If I had of just puked my guts out in a corner the fiberglass would of never cut my lip.

To better explain I am a firefighter. My first fire was May 23 2001. That was the day I was introduced to cough and gag'n. My first structure fire kicked my ass, 10 mins in and my ass was already dragging, luckily I had already sucked the bottom out of my air tank, (this is a 30 min tank, and its still 10 mins in) and had to head out.

As I exit and rip my mask off the full force of everything finally hits me and breathing gets more then just a tad bit labored. The seasoned vet paired with me glances over and to this day I swear he said something magical as he tossed me that cope can. 20 seconds after that stuff hit my gums I could breath perfectly again.

For a year or two I only dipped after fires or wrecks. I told myself that was how it would stay. I lied. A few more years of just a half can a day. Again I lied. One can a day. I lied. I tried the patches, I told myself i could have one dip a day for a week. Lies. I started dipping two cans a day. My lip stayed full.

Until today.

Today I quit.
