This is the start of day three for me. I am looking forward to getting this crap out of my system. Tonight at 10 PM is 72 hours for me. I know it's not exact but it will feel good to know that's when I should of cleared myself of nicotine.

If anyone else is struggling with these early stages of being tobacco free I will say that my saving grace has been diet and exercise. Day one I ran 2.5 miles after work, I had performance and endurance that far exceeded my usual cardio routines. I'm sure the lower hear rate and blood pressure contributed to that. Day two I had a great chest workout and felt some of the strongest pumps that I have in years (dipping years that is).

The way that I perform and feel athletically without dip is enough motivation to keep my nose turned up at the tin and focused on the healthy road ahead of me. I've had a few strong craves but when I think about all of the positive things that I would have to give up in order to chew tobacco it's easy to realize that I'm doing the right thing.
Rock on! Love this right here. Day 3 and you are already inspiring others and sharing practical quit advice. I'm proud to quit with you!
If us 2 olé guy's of 38 year's of slavery can do this, anybody can with the help of ktc and family! Quit on my friend! I quit with you today!
Day three  your rolling w/ the punches. Stay hungry. Keep your eyes on the prize. QUIT w/ you!

You never quit before. You merely stopped for a spell. Quitting is way different. Quitting is NAFAR  ODAAT.

I dipped for I think it was like 23 years? Something along those lines. I probably attempted to quit at least 12 times. One time I went almost a year. Every time I fell back. Mostly due to influence of friends. This site though has seriously helped me a ton. May not be for everyone, but it's exactly what I needed. I bet it will work for you, but it will only work if you follow the plan.

Thank you guys for the replies and support. I look forward to this journey. I quit once for three weeks. It was difficult at first but nothing that I couldn't handle, one day I opened a drawer in my kitchen and a fresh tin was staring up at me. It was that easy to be caught off guard and give in. I will be thoroughly searching my home/truck for any tins that I may have left around.

Tantrum, strong men ask for help when they can't do what needs to be done alone.

Tantrum. Dude, nice to be quitting with you.

You'll be joining our September Samurai 2015 Quit Group. We have a really strong group of Bad Ass Quitters and we are ALL going to make it together. No need to feel weak. We've got your back.

I will PM you my digits. Text me or call me if you start to feel challenged. Also, lots of other quitters who have been doing this much longer than me will help you out too. Don't hesitate to lean on them.

In the meantime, surf the site, read up on symptoms, personal stories, etc. This site doesn't cost you a penny, but it's not free. Your cost is:

1. As soon as you wake up every morning, you must post roll call - which is your commitment to yourself, me and your fellow Samurai that you will not put nicotine in your system that day. Nice job posting roll today.

2. Honor your promise and make your Quit rock solid all day.

3. Wake up the next day and repeat.

Simple. :) Talk to you soon and be strong.

Thank you very much for the reply. I've been on this site since 6:30 this morning. Reading topics and replies from all of the members. The support group here is very motivating. I'm ready to be involved and free my life from nicotine.

I've been serious about quitting for the last few years. I've done good at times and caved immediately at others. History has proven that I cannot do this on my own. I feel weak for having to ask for help but I'd rather be weak than die of mouth cancer. I will quit drinking for the first 50 days as well because if I can't trust my sober self to stay off dip, I certainly can't trust my drunk self to do it. I'll appreciate any support and advice. I will be sure to post roll too so that I stay involved.
Tantrum, Welcome to the site brother and congrats on make the best decision of your life. There is no reason to feel weak that you cannot do this on your own. Every single one of us on this site (over 20,000) needed help. That is why we are all here. It is one of the hardest things to quit. Great job on posting roll with your group earlier today. That is the foundation of this site. We post roll every single day and promise our brothers/sisters that we will not use for 24 hours. Then the next day we repeat. Build accountability with your quit group, exchange numbers, lean on them when your having a hard time. Ask question read up on the site. you got this. Let me know if you need anything.
