I have not felt this good in a long time. I prepare for all scenarios now, whenever I leave the house. Better safe than sorry! It really feels like I have been freed from the wrath of nicotine.

Today is Day 8 and is also the first time I have had any alcohol since quitting (crying baby and hectic work schedule). I was soooooo not prepared for the cravings that I was overcome with. The first 8 days were no walk in the park, but I have not had such a powerful craving since I quit! I decided to ease up on the alcohol and increase my water intake. The thought of having to piss every 10 minutes took my mind off my cravings and I will certainly prepare myself better next time (jakes or gum). I thought my experience was worth sharing, since I was taken off guard with my mind telling me to do something I knew I had no desire to do! Just goes to show that you cannot let your guard down.

Thanks for the support!

Thanks for the kind words and support! It's nice to know that none of us are going at this alone.
You hit the head right on the nail, Floyd. It's a joint effort, daily.

Hi All,

I have been dipping about a tin a day for 16 years. I finally decided it was time to quit since I just became a Dad. It was honestly a single moment that gave me the desire to quit. My 3 month old daughter stared me in the eyes and smiled from ear to ear. From that point forward I decided that she (and the rest of my family and friends) are worth more than a tin a chew. I'm on my 3rd full day and am fighting cravings with sugarless gum, jakes mint chew, and lots of water. Here's to a long and painful (but rewarding) road ahead.
Congratulations on a great decision and welcome to quit! The first three days are the roughest -- you are washing nicotine out of your system. Then it changes as your brain and body begin to heal.

Post roll with the May 2016 quit group, your daily promise to use no nicotine for 24 hours. Get to know the quitters there, exchange digits and build a support network.

Drink lots of water, exercise, and read this site for information and inspiration.

It will be a roller coaster for a while, but soon enough you will be smiling right along with your daughter.
Congrats on the quit. I wish I had quit when my children were born, it would have made life a lot easier than what it is today.
The road ahead will be hard, but you have the support from all the quitters here at KTC, that's a lot of support behind you.
As Nomore said, exchange digits with your group or anyone for that matter, it will help you down the road.
Stay quit my brother.....I QUIT WITH YOU TODAY!!!
2 Timothy 1:7 - For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
