Hi all,
My name is Jon, been chewing for 6 years.
Well this is day 1 of quitting for me...I threw my last can of chew into the garbage last night (Wintergreen Grizzly).
I am craving a chew really bad...resisting the urge to pull out the can that I threw away...still about 2 pinches left.
I am chewing gum but this is not helping much...I seriously feel like I'm taking crazy pills. I always told myself that once I finally decided to quit that it wouldn't be that hard, I would just stop chewing...yeah...right.
What I am really missing (dunno if this sounds weird or not) is the feeling of the chew pressing into my gums. I don't know why, but that is always the part that I've really enjoyed, the feeling of it 'cutting' into my gums sort of felt good.
I can do this...I know I can, even if I got crazy lol 'Crazy'
Thanks for listening...I hope it does get easier!
Jon,
Welcome!! You hand in there mister, it WILL get better. But, i'm not going to lie to you--it is going to suck donkey dick for a few days. IF you can make it through this initial period of suck, the prospects for your successful quit will enhance significantly.
I remember the first week of quit like it was yesterday... I probably will never forget it. I wanted to cave so many times. But, my resolve and this site is what kept me from giving into that two faced nic bitch.
Stay strong pal... and, STAY CLOSE to this site. This site has several resources to assit in your quit. USE THEM!!
Good luck--we'll be watching you :ph43r:
PS: You said you missed the chew pressing against your gums... I used to love that too. My advice, get some fake shit. Tease your brain. Buy some hooch snuff or something to tease your brain until you can get passed this initial suck.
