good for you, rdhawk05em, glad to see you in here and a founding quitter of 10/14. I was one of the first 9/14 members. post roll each morning, read through the site a bit and do whatever necessary to not put nic in your body, today. Do worry about tomorrow, today. NNT! (No Nic Today!). PM people in your group, others you see in the intro page, others will PM you out of the blue. Exchange #'s with folks and text with them, get to know people. If you are serious about this, and i think you are, get to know people, it helps with the accountability. I have a crazy list of KTC family in my phone like evil_won, antisaint, loot, spitstickler, sporticus and plenty others after 30days and 90% were added in the first week. We check on each other if we dont see roll posted, we find out where people are from and what interests we have in common.

Stay quit for you and whoever keeps you quit, today.

Dangranger, thanks for the catch. I meant to put 16 but glad to see how accountable people make you be on here.

Thumblewort, that is something that I didn't even really think of, but a great point.
And for my own accountability you are in October 2014, not September, my bad. Good spot to be in, you will always be further along in your quit than other members of October, natural leadership position. Good luck in the coming 2 weeks. Grind it out

Rdhawk, you are in a situation where your daughter may never remember seeing you chew if you quit today, and stay quit every day. I'd give a lot if I could have the luxury of not having my sons have seen me chew. Quit for yourself first and foremost, but the perks of quitting come tenfold on the daily as you go.
I made a promise to my son when he was born (I was 30) that he would never see me with a dip in my mouth.....

I lied....

I made the same promise 2 years later when my second son was born....

I lied.....

I found this place and posted roll.....I realized I was not alone....I realized I am an addict.....

I realized I needed accountability, encouragement and the understanding from people that knew exactly what I was going thru....because they had been there.

I realized I needed help......after 28 years of failure.

You are doing it right.....this site is yours....use it and create a final quit with us.

by the way....I posted roll this morning.....

I have not lied again.

Congrats on making a great choice, RdHawk. You're right about this site. I tried to quit lots of times...always caved. Then I found this site. The ONLY thing I did differently this time is POST ROLL and check in with the folks on this site. The folks on this site have made all the difference in my life...and I've never met any of them other than posting roll and intros.

You've taken the first step. Get involved here and let us help you with the rest. YOU CAN DO THIS, BROTHER!!!

Glad to see you made it here RdHwk.

You will be in the Pre-HOF October 2014 group. Posting roll is your promise at the beginning of each day to not use nicotine. You wake up, post roll on the site. BAM! hardest part of the day is done because now you KNOW you won't use nicotine because you promised your quit group. Read all the information in the Welcome Center and it will show you how to post roll. Just remember, don't think about the long run, take it One Day At A Time(ODAAT). I bet you can make it 1 day without the nic bitch. Just think about that every morning and lean on your quit bros when you are feeling weak.

Your time in KTC will only be as good as the amount of effort you put into it. Posting roll and running is not an effective method. Come in here, post roll, talk to people in their Intro threads, hope on live chat, get some phone #'s for accountability. It is hard to go back on your promise to quit when you build friendships with the people in your group.

I quit with you today rdhwk. Glad to have you here

What's up all. Today is 6/24/14 and I am on Day 3 of my quit. I have been chewing since I was 14. Picked it up playing golf in high school, and got really bad with it while in college with all the down time. Curbed it way back once I got an office job, but then quit that profession to be a golf pro, and needless to say, I could do it all day at work no problem. I had a daughter born on Christmas morning, and she was two months premature. I finally said enough is enough and that I want to be around for this girl, and for all the fighting she did for me, this is the least that I can do for her.

I have tried to quit in the past and have gone back quite quickly. I have never seen a website like this, and i find it encouraging that people who have been through this shit are out there to help. I have never tried the fake chew like smokey mountain since I figured using that will just bring me back to the actual stuff much faster, but from what I have read via this site, it doesn't sound like a bad alternative, at least to start with.

As far as this forum, I have no idea how this works. I already posted something in what I thought was my "quit group" and was told to post a new thread in introductions, so here we are. And where do I post roll then? Advise please, and thanks in advance, looking forward to conquering this myself!
Here's directions on how to post roll. And a little word of wisdom. I noticed you posted an introduction twice. On one post you say you started dipping at 16 and in another you say you started dipping at 14. Could be a totally innocent mistake, and truth be told I'm not sure exactly what year I started...however, the point is try to be as honest as possible with everything you post here. This is a website about accountability and the first rule of accountability is honesty.

1. Login, go to your quit page (you'll be September 2014), think about what you are going to post.
2. Find the most recent post
3. hit F5 or refresh the page
4. Press "quote" on the roll
5. Click in the box that has all of the Roll posts (the lower box), hit CTRL-A to select all and Press CTRL-X to CUT, not copy-if you copy, then you'll double post roll.
6. Click to the reply window and press CTRL+V to paste it in. Then write in your name, day and your promise
7. Press submit-done.
