Welcome to KTC brother. The next few days are miserable but it gets better. Just take it slow and drink lots of water. If you get some good old fashioned Nic rage, take it out on us. We can take it. We've all been there. I'm still using the fake stuff occasionally and I'm on day 64. This place works but only if you are quitting for you and quitting for real. Not stopping for a bit, not quitting for an insurance quote, but for you and for good. Take it ODAAT and you can make it through it.
You're Quit, Not Cured. KTC will help remind you of the difference.

I dipped for 26 years and tried to quit once every 6 months during that time. Sound at all familiar? This place works. Believe in the philosophies (Cold Turkey, and one day promises for one day of quit) And get involved. Post roll, update your progress on your intro page, participate on the group chat, get numbers and make contact with other quitters. If you do this, your quit will stick. Lots of commitment and dedication required from you, so nut up and make this quit work.

Cory,

You are making a great decision. This is a great place to do it. That is the good news.

The bad news is you are on day 1 and not day 10 yet. The next 3 days are going to suck. No way around it. You just gotta man up and realize you can get thru 72 hours 1 hour at a time.

Don't hesitate to PM any of us for phone numbers or to chat. All of us have been thru it and you can too.

Everyone else covered the basics, so I'll just say welcome aboard and PM me if you need digits (which you probably do).

PS: Staying quit is the best decision you'll make all day.

Welcome Cory,
Congratulations on your quit and I hope everything checks out with the oral surgeon.
Get ready for a tough mental and physical battle to overcome 20 years of addiction.
Read everything on this site, get phone numbers, text, pm, live chat.
PM me for my cell, today is a good day to quit!
A saying you will hear on this site is ODAAT (one day at a time), promise to quit one day, then wake up and do it again.

You've made a great decision to quit Cory. Stick with it day by day and I promise it will be one of the best things you've ever done. Life is so great without being a slave to nicotine. I was full of fear and a feeling of loss when I quit. The way I got through it was a lot of involvement on this site and a lot of reading to educate myself on our addiction. Holler if you need anything. If I can do this you for sure can! Welcome! Make friends and post roll everyday. That's the keystone to success.

Welcome to the madhouse. There's guys here with probably an identical story to yours, going through the same feelings you are right now. Get to know them. Take the option to ever go back to the can off the table.

THIS is the time you quit. Not another half-assed attempt where you fold in a week or two. Not this time. Quit just for today. We'll worry about tomorrow when it gets here. 'oh yeah'

Hello. I'm Cory from northern indiana. Been chewin for over 20 yrs. For my 41st birthday last week I got to go see an oral surgeon about a spot my dentist found. The surgeon doesn't seem to concerned at the moment, I have to go back in a month. Scarred the crap out of me. Anyway I chewed the last tiny chew out of the grizzly can last night. Today I bought a can of smoky mountain herbal stuff. Felt like I was having a panic attack at Walmart looking for it through all the cans of chew. But I got out and today I quit chewing grizzly. I really don't know what to do from here.

Cory,
Welcome to KTC. This welcome is coming to you from another Corey who also lives in the Midwest (Missouri). Quitting is not easy but it is easier when you use KTC. Now, How to Post Roll and then go post roll with Pre HOF November 2014. Posting roll is your promise to yourself and all of us that you are quit today. We do this daily like putting on pants (not all of us wear pants though).

Next read some of the information here, get to know other quitters and start to discover the quit tools available here. Exchange numbers with other quitters and get things going.

When you start to get cravings, drink lots of water and exercise. This is a great chance to change your life as a whole. We are all here to help too.

P.S. the above bold and underlined are links.
