It will have been 13 years in august. I started dipping at the beginning of my freshmen year of high school. It has been with me through the USMC, fire school, medic school, and college. As I'm now in nursing school and I realize how stupid it is I saw the need to quit. [again]. I've tried 3 times in the past, but didn't think about the how too much and ended up with a pinch back in my lip. I never knew there was a community of other quitters. If I had my last attempts might have worked. I know that I need to and I know I can make it to the end especially with a group that understands what's ahead.
Glad to see you makin a bit more effort to tell us about you. Also, knowing a bit about your background maks it a lot easier to know what to expect from YOU. I will tell you this...there are a lot of former marines (and other, lesser branches - no offense, just tellin the truth) on here. Me personally? I was Navy...a corpsman that spent most of my 8 years in with the marine corps...Whay do I bring this up? Because WE know that you have been instructed on integrity, committment, brotherhood, unity, leadership, and perseverence. Does everyone have what it takes to be successful in their quit? NO. Do YOU? If you were a marine worth anything, Absolutely! I know that I expect more from former marines - and other service members - than I do from the average quitter. Is this fair? Yes, it is, because of the things I mentioned before. This is very much a marine "friendly" environment - in other words, you know the rules, follow them. A Vet tells you what you need to do, you do it. You follow your leaders and in turn you lead by example. Glad to know that you are in nursing school...how long have you been in school?

NEVER AGAIN WALK INTO THAT CLASSROOM OR CLINICAL SETTING WITH A DIP IN YOUR MOUTH...I KNOW YOU'VE DONE IT...I DID IT ALL THORUGH NURSING SCHOOL, CLINICALS AND EVEN WHILE WORKING ON PTS IN THE ER.

Our profession requires us to be respectful of our patients. We cannot do that by trying to care for them with dip stuffed in our lip...

Welcome again to the quit. Stay active. Get numbers of brother for support. Read as much as you can. Make a strong quit plan - STAY QUIT. If you need a number, mine is yours for the asking.
Ain't that some shit...here I go sticking my whole fucking leg in my mouth, giving this wad more credit than he desrves...hell, I shoulda blown him...

YOU CANNOT HAVE BEEN A MARINE WORTH SHIT AND BE SUCH A LAME ASSED FUCKER AS TO NOT HAVE ANY INTEGRITY.
Blah...Blah...Blah...You keep TALKIN....I'll keep QUITTIN

I'm not here to make friends, I'm here to support YOUR quit.

Red - tell us your story. Also tell us your plan. Quiting is hard, use everything you can on this site. Read the info, read the notes, and listen to the vets. You quit 1 day at a time. So find your group (should be Oct) and post roll. This says I quit for today. Dipping is off the table for today. Then tomorrow morning, do the same thing. Make a promise and keep your word.

Congrats on the first part - the decision to quit. Now start drinking lots of water, get seeds or fake chew and start reading.

Welcome to the quit.
