Quitting alone is rough and lonely, you need others going through the same thing and POST ROLL i dont care if you have to drive to the local library cuz you're internet is down POST IT. LETS DO THIS!

Well,it's day 1 and so far so good. Where are all the support out there. I joined last nite  so far not much support. I can do this. Not I think I can, I think I can. But I can do it.
His first post in May 2011 group was to bitch about the lack of support here. Not a roll call post mind you. A bitch about how all of the below posts were meaningless to him.

Doosh.
hmmm.. no support here... ??!!??!

Really ??

Maybe not what you want to hear.. but certainly more support here than you will find elsewhere. These bad ass quitters can save your life if you let them..

rhester is right...there are not pills, patches or short-cuts. Nobody can quit for you, nobody can make it okay. It is poison that is killing you and you are responsible for putting that shit in your mouth.

The good news is that we are all here to support you. You give us your word, you keep your word, and you will be quit.

If this isn't your decision, you will join the long list of excuse-making pussies. I should know...I used to be on that list before I found this site.

Well,my new friends, here I am at 2:45am and have to get up at 5am for work. My wife  I talked tonight about one of my habits that needs to go,just glad she doesn't want all of them to go. I am 47,I started dipping when I was 6 and dipped until I was 32. I didn't dip for 10 yrs. Then I let the monkey get on my back again about 5 yrs. ago. It has not been good at my house since I started back. I do know how hard it is to quit  I agree that NOW is the time. No step plan will work. When I leave here for work I am giving my wife all of the cans I have. I know I am in for 1 hell of a day. If I choose to stop  get some I have failed her,my kids, all of U  myself. I know it will be a daily thing the rest of my life. I gave up my good Ol' marijuana back in '91. I stopped alcohol in '87, but in '05 I went to Jamaica  as soon as I got to the taxi a dude came up with 2 Red Stripes. I took them, gave one to my wife, she said I don't want it. Well,I said good I'll drink it too. Then I hit the beach  got hot. So I convinced her by handing her a fresh fruit drink with rum. After that, offon, for about 3 yrs. I would play around with alcohol. I have not touched it for awhile  really don't care to. I do make a choice daily to not drink or smoke pot,so now I have 1 more choice to make daily. Please, give me all the support you can. I live in Senatobia,Ms.  work in Millington,Tn. I hope to meet someone from around here for close accountability. See ya.
You don't sound like you want to quit for yourself. If you are doing it for her, then you won't be successful, or you will blame her in the rough spots to come. You need to be the one to throw away your dip. Don't give it to her to do your dirty work. Sack up and do it yourself, It is a step that will give you something to be proud of.

We are all here for you, but you need to do it for yourself.

post roll early.....realize you are making a vow and wagering your honor and integrity by doing so....

keep your word today and win your bet......repeat in the morning. sounds like you know the drill.

btw.....it has to be for you....you can use her as motivation....but you will you have to make this about you and your desire to gain control from your addiction.

Welcome to the site and the suck finally! Cold turkey is the best way to quit. Everything else just delays and drags out the suck. You've made a wise decision and all of us here will be with you taking it one day at a time.

Make sure to join the live chat as soon as you can. It's a great way to get to know the people around here.

Glad to be quit with you.

Good for you. I just found this site last week and it definitely helps to have a group of people who know what you're going through. You can do it. Just keep making the right decision TODAY. Plenty of good people are in here for you.
