Cool thanks Shane... Lax player hey, that's where are started doing this shit, lacrosse and hockey. I played box here in BC Canada, Junior A and in the WLA and played on a Canadian field team that toured in Philly, Washington, Baltimore and New York. Still played up until a couple of years ago...could still play but it's takes to much time and it's the kids turn... Anyways take it easy man
Yeah I started the same way.... I play division two lacrosse in North Carolina. Dipping is pretty prevalent in the game, which is too bad. Are you still living in Canada?

I used smokey mountain for the first couple of weeks religiously, and it seemed to help me out quite a bit. I heard that the hooch gives a little burn, similar to real dip, but the flavor isn't as good as smokey mountain. Personally, I like using seeds rather than the fake dip. The constant oral movements helped me to keep my mind off of the dip, and the fake shit just made me want a real chew, but I have heard a variety of mixed opinions.

I am only on day 24, but my biggest advice for you is stay as busy as you can, work out, don't sit around the house at any cost. Also my biggest weakness was being around people who dip (of course) so try your best to steer clear of chewers if possible. Good luck man and feel free to pm me.

I am an Army Vet who has been chewing for 25 years.  While in the military I chewed 2 tins a day for 4 years.  I am now down to about 4 tins a week, and am on my third day cold turkey.  I quit the minute I stumbled across an interview on Real Sports where a guy had a severely deformed face from oral cancer due to dipping. SO THE QUESTION IS THIS    How are the alternative Non- Nicotine/Tobacco substitutes?  I just ordered 6 tins of  mint "Hooch" and I have no idea what to expect?   'bang head'

It is 9am  'qt'  on day 3 and I am craving a dip in  a baaaaaad way  'Crazy' .  Any words of wisdom would be helpful.  I can't remember the last time I went 3 days without a dip.  Thanks. 'Remshot'
I'm on Day 3 as well. Check your Inbox. Just PM'd you. I decided to not use the substitutes. For me it was just a personal decision to stop not only the nic but also the putting something in my lip.

I can't remember going three days either. Best thing is that I can't wait to make it four days tomorrow.

Proud to be your quit brother. Let's do this.

I am curious about the fake dip too? Why do people want you to stay away from it? I think for myself it would help... The triggers are what's killing me, my wife just told me that she was going out for awhile and my stomach got butterflies because I thought oh good I have time to have a chew "ninja chewer" then i remembered I QUIT! Killin me...

Try this:

Smokeless Alternatives Reviews

Of the different ones I tried (Smokey Mountain, Oregon Mint Snuff, Jake's Mint Chew, and Hooch) I think Hooch was probably the better of the choices. More variety in their selection, better consistency (it packed better), and I think just worked better for me. Some here will tell you to stay far away from the fakie, but I know it helped me get through the rough times. So, whatever you need to do to keep the real shit out of your mouth, that's what you do. I'm posting six months free tomorrow morning, so I know it works.

Lots of vets (the military kind) around here, so reach out whenever you need to. Stay strong, shoot me a PM if you need digits, glad to be quit with you today.
