So I am a 22 year retired dipper. I have been retired for 65 days now. Quitting sucks balls. Being quit for 65 days is AMAZING!!! I read your problems with quitting. You are treating your can like a mistress. You know she isn't good for you or your family but she is the fun part of your life. If that is gone, you will have the mundane life, full of responsibilities left without you thrill of the mistress. So saying goodbye is going to be a killer for you. This will be the hardest thing you will do....But you can do it. How do I know? Because you are an addict just like me. You need to get through 72 hours of detox. I am willing to walk with you, but this is something that you can't be carried, you have to walk it yourself and embrace the suck.
Everything you feel for your can (nicotine) is a crock of shit! You have clouded vision because you are a damn addict!
Are you at the point where you hate it? You loath buying a can but you just can't stop? You don't want to have it in your possession and resent when you dip. The love of it is gone. You just are sick of it. You want no more of it but fear you can't stop?
If you are still making love to your can, and want to quit because your kids call it names, you aren't in the right mindset. You have to quit because YOU are done with this shit. YOU don't want to be controlled by a fucking weed.
Until then, you will never quit. You'll pause a trigger will fire and you will go back to making love with you skanky disease riddled whore you think is a mistress!
Trust me, I know it is hard to quit. I FUCKING have been there. But you know what. I have friends that are cops. They are fucking bad asses that will put their lives at risks and they love adrenaline rushes. So you aren't even putting yourself in harms way...in fact by quitting you are going to be a bigger bad ass than you are!
So with all the compassion I can muster...Stop being a pussy. Throw this cunt bitch to the curb. Tell her it is over and you never, ever want to see her again. (She will be relentless and stalk you) Fear and hate her for that but when she shows up, dismiss her immediately. Each day you resist. You have more stamina to keep saying NO! Not Now and Not Today! Its like you turn her down for sex and it is really hard. The next time she has bad breath, then her tits sag. Finally she shows up and is desperate. She pulls up her skirt to tempt you and you see a big soggy cock n balls there. It will turn your stomach and you will know that you can say know anytime because all you have to do is remember your mistress is a tranny. And thats not your bag.
This is painful and hard for even a cop but you can do it. YOU and only you make the choice to quit or cave. Influences are there but you chose freedom or vice. Freedom is terrifying when you have bee shackled for so long in your addiction. Trust me it is worth it. My family relationships are so much better, I am filled with gratitude I never had. I feel successes that I never recognized. Work for Freedom.

2. Addicted minds can not think in terms of being quit forever. We quit every day and never worry about what tomorrow will bring. We put 100% of our effort and game into today only. If tomorrow comes and you wake up. You repeat. Soon you will have a record of quit days in a row. Since joining this site, I am undefeated!
