Tim,

Welcome to KTC. Wake up, piss, post roll. By posting you are promising to stay quite today. It is going to suck for awhile but embrace it your life is worth it.

Go to you tube and search for: kill the can how to post roll. Although I am sure most can figure it out by the instructions, I couldn't. Guess I am one of those people that need pictures in the instructions. There are also videos on how to post from your phone, so no excuse not to post EDD. Proud to Quit with you brother, PM me if I can help.

Really appreciate the support everybody. I know it's just one day but it already feels good to beat a few cravings. In it for the long haul now!

1 question (might be stupid) but I keep seeing that it's important to drink a lot of water I was just wondering what it does

I am in your same boat too, just quit 4 long days ago. Think of nicotine as your worst enemy every day. Because it will become that soon. Best advise I've got from these guys to get me through this shit. Drink lots and lots of water. It really does help. Oh and of course post roll every damn day.

Hey guys my name is Tim. Im 28 years old. Had my first chew when I was 18 with some of my wrestling buddies thinking we were all cool and shit. I've always been into lifting and living a pretty healthy lifestyle. Dipping has become the one thing that I do that I seriously despise myself for. It's like a stess cycle of unconsciously knowing I need to quit but rather than quitting I'll calm myself down by packing a chew while I'll think about how I will quit tomorrow. I've tried quitting a few times and my downfall is always a situation that comes up. (I.e. After a Argument, party, certain people I hang with that also dip or smoke, stressful days at work). Im finally accepting the fact that these situations are going to continue to come up and want to suck me back into my habit. I'm fucking all done with this shit for real. I'll do whatever it takes and I think being able to chat with people going through similar situations will be a huge help for me.

Can someone explain to me how to post roll
Tim, Welcome to the site brother. I am in the same boat as you just 29 years old and wanted to take my life back. I am about a year in now and if I can quit so can you. If you stick with the program here and lean on your quit brothers/sisters you can do this. You will be posting roll in Sept 2015 quit group. There are instructions on how to post roll on the page. Also a lot of vets in different stages of quit to help you out as well. Don't let stress get in the way of this. It is just a part of life and 1 problem plus dipping creates 2 problems. We can help you here. If you want to rage do it here we can take it. We've all been in your shoes at one point. Remember these first few days and remind yourself that you never want to go back. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Bruno,

Glad you found the place. If you are serious, there are only a handful of steps involved in quitting.

1. throw it all away
2. be prepared for the suck that will come, but also realize that quitting and nicotine withdrawals have never actually killed anyone (it just seems like it for the first few days).
3. Post roll, EARLY (like right after you wake up and piss), EVERY DAY. Do not take this step lightly. It may seem stupid, but having the accountability that comes from strangers going through the same crap you are going through actually works. The only way accountability works is for you to hold yourself, and your quit group, accountable. The only way to do that is POST ROLL EVERY DAMN DAY.
4. HONOR your word. We are all addicts here. The ONLY thing bonding us together other than our disdain for nicotine is our word. Be a man of integrity.
5. Grow your network....reach out to other quitters in September '15 (and others as you deem necessary). Get numbers and, if necessary, USE THEM. Do NOT think you're in this alone, cause you're not.
6. Repeat steps above as often as necessary....ANYTHING to keep that crap out your lip.

Read the instructions on Septembers pages, it'll tell you how to post roll. And remember, the only way to really screw it up is to not post at all.

Quit on, brother.
