Hey guys,

I flushed my last tin down the toilet about 2 hours ago.

This site blew me away. The stories, support, and especially roll call. This is it, I found the accountability I need.

I'm 26 and was dipping for a little over 5 years till today. I tried quitting in the past, too many times to count. Now, with your support I know I kicked it for good.

A couple weeks ago I started a project called "Project: Rewrite" where I'm changing my life around. I got frustrated with everything and decided to do something about it. Quitting chewing tobacco was one of them.

Project: Rewrite is an online documentary of my journey to change to my life around. If you're interested in checking it out, you can visit Project: Rewrite through that link. It has a timer on it that keeps track of my last dip. (I used to reset it daily, today I did it for the very last time) I'm working on my next video right now which will be on addiction.

I'm glad that I found this amazing community.

Looking forward to roll each and every day!

Thanks!

Thanks for the support guys. I'll be on here every day posting roll. Yesterday was almost unbearable but the commitment to you guys to not dip for that day got me through.
Thank you.

Yan---good luck. You are quite talented. That video was freakin' awesome.

I'm not bipolar and I have a college degree. However, I am an addict, like you, and I am overweight.

I'm on day 272 and I feel great. No regrets. No sores, no pains and flush red gums. I did gain about 30 lbs since quittign in May. I stopped going to the gym. I became a bit depressed. I still battle that and my family tells me I yell too much. But I am still quit.

I started back at the gym this year. I am 50% mentally better. As I lose weight, I becoem more and more tolerable.

Push thorugh it, dude. It is worth it. Live long, my friend.

Welcome to the jungle yanvon, it is always good to see someone come here and fight for their life back. It isn't going to be easy, but you can do this. Many here have and if you just listen and reach out for help when you need it, it gets better day by day. You are going from shackles to freedom with this decision and nothing but good can come from that. I am quit with you today my brother....

Wow yan, the site looks real neat. I will definitely check it out in the AM before I get going. We're glad to have you aboard here at KTC. A few things to get you off and in the right direction:

Here at KTC, more is more. Take a moment yourself and look around. At the top left of the page, there is a pink link "Welcome Center". This will show you the concept of KTC and how we operate on a daily basis. I suggest you take some time and read through each of the topics on that page. This will have you set to go apeshit with your quit and save your life. Also, the KillTheCan.org link to the right of the Welcome Center will take you to the main page with links to more stories, pictures, and what have you.

This is the most crucial element of this site. I know I speak for more than myself when I say that, the more reading you do on this site, be it words of wisdom, hall of fame speeches, pictures from the past etc, the more it fuels your quit. You need to realize that what we do here, is more than just not use tobaccy, we're battling an addiction. You're an addict, I'm an addict, the next guy who posts is an addict.

You and I are similar. I was one of the "young, dumb, and invincible" variety that seem to become more and more common. Thought I was doing the "smart" thing and saving my own ass by not puffin on a pack of nic sticks everyday. Ha, not so smart for a scholarshipped kid. This place is a savior. If you can get on here and probe around, read some stuff, get yourself to take the bait, this brotherhood will do everything in it's power to help fuel your quit. The comradery here is incredible, we're all a band fighting towards the same goal, battling the same addiction, each and every day.

It's time for you to get up and going. Post up your day number 1 in the May 2012 quit group once you've gotten that far in the Welcome Center. I will be quit with you today and from now on. If you have any questions, concerns, or comments, you can feel free to PM me and I will get you a number if need be.
