walleye- Picked up some smokey wintergreen. Not as bad as I remember and should definitely help. Thought it was kinda funny getting my ID checked for a herbal chew.lol
Wt57 and Thumblewort- You are so right about this and I have been looking at it the wrong way.
basshaug- you are right, Nicotine was a crutch I have relied on for a long time and I will be much happier watching the hawks beat the wild for the 3rd straight year, especially being up in Minnesota.

No time better than now! nice job posting roll. Nicotine used to be your crutch and you thought you relied on it in good times and bad. All nicotine ever did was give you an easy "out" and it didnt make your playoff experience any better or easier win or lose.

This year you'll get to watch the the 2nd round and actually FEEL happy when the blackhawks beat the wild instead of some numbed nicotine impacted sensation. Congrats on making the best decision you've ever made and at a nice young age. Your start was similar to mine, but i wasted an additional $11,000 in the 6 years i continued to chew between 22 and 28. Enjoy the freedom one day at a time. Reach out if you need anything.

Your timing couldn't be any better. Learn to hate tobacco and nicotine, and quit now at 22 instead of 44 like me.

I'm gonna tell you that I know a worse time. 35 years from now is much worse, that's how long I waited. How about quitting after the cancer diagnosis wouldn't that be worse?

That's funny because I too tried smokey mountain a few years ago and hated it. Now that I quit I don't mind it and it really helps me get past those tough times. I like you chewed grizzly wintergreen.. I Think the Smokey wintergreen is close. That is a good idea to get your buddies on here! Also make sure you read read and read some more, it really helps to hear other peoples stories!

Walleye,

Thank you for the quick post and your support. I finally just figured out how to post roll and did it for the first time, had to watch a youtube video on it. Haha
I am excited about this site and the people for sure. I hope I can help everyone as well.
I tried smokey mountain about 2 years ago and didn't like it, but I will definitely give it another shot. Any particular flavor?
What is different this time is that I started chewing with my best friend 5 years ago. We have tried quitting before and if one of us fails, the other usually does to. We talked on April 19th, decided it was time and quit the 20th. It may seem like an odd way to quit, but we both have been ready awhile and I am glad we are starting. I also have a few other friends here at college that have began to quit smoking cigarettes this past week as well. It definitely is making it easier having others fighting to quit to. Like I said though, this is it for me, this is why I'm here, even if they fail I will not!
I hope to get all of them signed up to this forum as well though cause I would hate to see any of them go back.

Jason,

You made the right choice coming here. I wish I would have quit when I was your age I would have saved me a lot of money and worry, I am now 27. You need to post roll every day man, every day!!!!!!!! This site has great people that are willing to help but you need to give to. You need to be committed to your quit and guard it with your life. You have to be willing to fight like hell! Things that have help me are fake dip (smokey mountain) and seeds.

My question for you is what is different this time?

If you ever need anything I am a PM away

I quit with you today,

Day 8
« on: April 29, 2015, 01:30:00 AM »
Hello Everyone! I am Jason and am 22. I have been chewing for nearly 5 years and have finally decided it is time to quit. Now this isnt the first time I have decided that since I began chewing. I have "quit" about 3 times, but almost always end up caving around the 1 month mark. I started off chewing skoal pouches, which eventually led to Skoal apple and cherry and different flavors, I tried it all because of my curiosity. Well eventually I got addicted to Grizzly Wintergreen and have chewed about 3-4 tins a week for the past two years (minus those few times I "quit"). I joined here cause I really want to quit this time, but I also feel like my timing couldn't be any worse and can use everyones help to get through it. I love playoff hockey, and I love dipping even more when watching it. I am outdoors everyday in the summer and I dont know what to do when I go to mow the lawn or go out on the boat fishing all day. Oh and one more thing, Finals are next week and my stress levels are through the roof!

I would really appreciate any comments/tips/advice/etc...

Thank you all for reading and sorry if I went on a little long with the intro!
Jason :)
