I live by two rules in life:

1. Don't live in Oklahoma
2. Don't use nicotine

I quit with you today.
Those are two very good rules to live by.

Damn glad to see you are in-fact proving me wrong. Nice job on the roll post too. But I got to tell ya, the best damned thing ever to come out of Oklahoma is Interstate 35! Get the pc and phone fixed Duck, as you got some work to do and an important phone call to make...right? Wayne

I'm still here! I just messaged you back - my phone got dropped in a puddle the other evening and I am currently using a friends phone for a few minutes. My phone should be ok - I am still soaking it in rice. How can I post roll from this phone?
Go to your group, select all text in second text box, then hit "cut" and then paste that in the text box above, add your name to the "QUITTERS" list and add day count, then click add post.

Where the hell are you Duck? You have not responded to my pm nor have you posted roll yet. I thought you were so all fired up about quitting and wanted to resolve your problems. I had Cmark standing by to help you with the alcohol and sent you his number too. I hope I am wrong about you, but I kind of got a feeling your just a flash in the pan and I wasted alot of my time on you for nothing. Prove me wrong amigo.

Hey Duck, glad to see that all that time you and I spent in chat last night and this morning did not go to waste. Nice job on the intro, but I did not see where you posted roll yet. Remember, you are in the Feb. 2014 quit group. Look up at the Inbox(1) at the top right of this screen and open it. It is the pm we talked about last night with my cell number. Call me with any problems or if you need me to walk you through the roll posting process. Also remember that we talked about the hooch last night too, and its propensity to bring on a cave. Call me when you get the urge to drink or dip...deal? I also know a very strong quitter on here with alot more experience with the drinking part than I have, so I am going to have him call you when we talk. His name is Cmark and he is ready, willing and very able to talk to you about cross addictions and how to quit both. Like I told you in chat, we will get you through this if you work with us and help yourself...but we cant do it without you buddy. Glad to see you here. Wayne

This site can help you kick your nicotine addiction (not a habit) to the curb. We don't use words like try or hope as they are just another excuse for our addictive brains to tell us another lie. There are no short cuts, but here are some links that will help you navigate this site.

This a NO NICOTINE site. End of discussion. Why this Site Works

Best thing to do is get familiar with this site and start building your quit defense.

Highly recommend you go here: Welcome Center, Getting Acclimated, What to Expect   Top Ten List

Your quit Decision MUST be 100% about you. Anything short of that sets you up for failure by allowing your addict brain to blame a given situation as reason for you to go back to the can. Quitting out of fear, based on a medical issue, will fade as soon as the doctor or dentist gives you a clean bill of health.

Post Roll every day or communicate with someone and have them post via text, email or call. Get as many number of your group as you can and use them frequently. Keep in touch with your quit brothers. Send them a PM, text or call every few days just to keep an open line of communication. Give them your email address. Make it IMPOSSIBLE for you to go a day without several people contacting you all day if you don't post roll.

You want another layer of accountability? Come post in my room every morning after you post roll in yours April 2012
Duck,
Posting roll is the easiest part of your day. If you cannot post roll for yourself due to lack of computer access. I ask do you have a cell phone? Can you call or text another quitter to post for you? Hell brother if you want I will throw my hat out there to be your roll poster. I don't give a damn how many days I would have to post roll for you, I would as would many other quitters here.

This site is all about Brotherhood and Accountability. Which if your words below are sincere these words mean something to you as well. We are all here to help you quit and I can promise you with some testicular fortitude and the help of KTC you can QUIT.

I want to stop!
« on: November 07, 2013, 02:18:00 AM »
Hi, my name is Duck, I have been dipping for about 6 years since I was 13. The last month my habit has become unbearable I have gone through a can to 2 cans a day. The stress that increased my habit? I went to see a very close person to me in Ma. I quit my job to apologize, it's a very long story. To make it short I will skip that part. She hugged me and said my life was too destructive, a day later I was held hostage by a nutty woman in Burlington. I ended up living in my car for a couple of days and then a shelter. I finally made it home to Oklahoma and then back to Texas where I am originally from. On my return I was frightened to find my gums starting to bleed an abnormal amount and a close friend of mine passed away. I had stopped on my own for about 5 days and caved yesterday on the 6th (6/11/13). I'm not too sure how roll call works I have been reading a lot on it and I believe I have the concept, I am a little slow. I really want my life back. Before all of this I had much to be grateful for. I had an awesome job with the ME, I was in mortuary school with a sense of direction - which a lot of people had always joked how such a liberal guy fell into or wanted to be in such a conservative business (hiding my 8 tattoos was not easy!). I admit I am slightly immature and have a bit of trouble keeping up with everything but I ALWAYS see my commitments through and this is one of the hardest. I've been trying to stop on my own for roughly a year now. I have failed every time. Not because I lack the dedication, but I have very high stress factors in my life; my family and my past. I didn't exactly have the best childhood. My parents tried and things were okay until I was 11. After that, I have been physically in some cases been abused but mostly emotionally. I want to kick this habit and develop a life for myself, to be a better man and put my goals forward. My concern is slight, but roll call online everyday will be a bit difficult as I do not always have access to a computer :( . I am a person of my word, however, and will do all I can to make that post. I have "Veritas", tattooed on me for a reason. I in the past year have ran into trouble with alcohol and thankfully not drugs. I left Oklahoma because it was fueling that problem. It's very easy to fall into things in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do. I was surrounded in the home with positive influence but on my own outside I made many mistakes. I want to live for many years and cancer scares me. I've probably gone on long enough with this introduction as this is the most I have said in a very long time. My email is Duckgaroux@live.com - thank you very much for helping me! I can't wait to get to know everyone it means a lot to me.
