Thor- post roll in our Feb 09 group. Welcome aboard. You are in the thick of it now. As long as you don't dip you won't have to go through this crap ever again. Take it day by day and jump in chat as often as possible.

Brew up some green tea and then stick it in your lip.

You will be amazed at how much free time your brain has when you stop all the planning that goes into being a ninja dipper. ( :ph43r: speaking from experience, of course!)

I found myself constantly tested in the early stages of my quit. Addictions are cunning. I (as do others) characterize nictoine as the Nic-bitch (or similar variations) and she is always waiting for you to come back to her. With the support of the brothers and sisters here, you can beat her into submission and keep her there.

Good luck!

Holler is you want some help.
Stay close, stay strong, stay quit!

Ok, I've been dipping for about 30 years. the last time i quit was about 10 years ago and i started back about 9.8 years ago and have been hiding it from my wife ever since.
Those of you that dip regularly but hide it from your loved ones know that this requires constant oversight and planning on your part, for example:

Me, my wife and my daughter (12) were going out of town to attend my neice's wedding this past weekend and i had failed to secure a can for the trip and so i went by the only store close to my house that i could purchase it and it not show up on the debit card receipt as Tobacco. I also had to devise a plan to keep the can with me while being in constant close proximity of the wife  daughter over the weekend.
The store was out! I got a little upset and said to myself "fine, i'm just going to quit"

So i strike out to spend the weekend with people i can barely tolerate when i am dipping (wife  daughter being obvious exceptions) and have to meet new people that i have to nice to. I also get roped in to picking up my mother and driving her all over the place, having to find a dress for my daughter because she was a last minute addition to the wedding party and have to video the entire ceremony with a Sony handycam.

But I did it. I managed to get through the entire weekend dip free
And Everyone Lived

I'm on day 4 now and chewing gum and eating seeds, but today has been the best day yet!
Well Thor you are just about through the worst/physical part of quitting. Stay strong and committed to this quit. Keep on going man. If you need anything, let me know.
Time heals but I'm forever broken
