it feels good to come on here and say no nicotine today. one day at a time. i'll get on the official roll tonight and figure that shit out.
The sooner, the better anodyne. Good to have you here regaining control of your life.

In the future we'll hope that you can get up ~5 minutes earlier and make roll in the morning, so that we all see the accountability you've taken and no sense of complacency develops. I quit with you today.

Thanks CCR. I am struggling a bit to get my head around the roll sign up and post but I will figure it out. But not tonight. Did I say I can't think straight, much? Thanks again.
If you feel like taking a practice run at posting roll, here you can find the Practice Page. Mistakes are okay, they happen, and everyone does them. It's no big deal. If you'd like to get started with roll this evening, give it a whirl. If a problem occurs, someone will get you all fixed up.

There's no better time than right now to begin the fight with KTC behind you!

Anodyne,

Welcome to KTC. As I said before, you're on the right track, but here are some pointers and what not.

The first thing you'll want to do is familiarize yourself with the concept of KTC, what roll is, why we do it, how it's done, and why it works. You can get a grip on this by visiting the Welcome Center and reading the topics present within. Once you've done this, you'll be able to post up roll over in the May 2012 Quit Group! The people here will be your quit brothers and sisters. Do not hesitate to form relationships with these people. Although strangers at first, they will soon become your best friends- all of us here at KTC are addicts, whether you realize it or not. Nicotine is a carcinogen and we have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy against it.

Also, at the top right of the page, you will find the LIVE CHAT link. You are encouraged to sign up here (it's separate credentials from the forum) and pop in from time to time. There are always fellow brothers and sisters in the room looking for conversation. This will be a major tool as you strengthen your quit.

The long and short of it? Post roll in the morning. This is your promise to not use the nic bitch! Do NOT ingest nicotine for that day. Go to bed, wake up, and do it all over again. Each and every day, you regain a bit of your life! I must mention that it is crucial that you are determined to quit for YOURSELF. Quitting for those other reasons are important, but a quit just doesn't exist with out that determination of self. The fog will come and go, as any of us will tell you, but you will have an extensive support network here before you know it! Do not hesitate to message numbers and form this column of support. We often say, "remember how shitty the first 'X' days of your quit were. Do you ever want to experience that again? Fuck no!"

Step one of you taking back control of your life begins. Right. Now!

Any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to PM me or any of the other vets rolling around. I quit with you today!

Crew

Day 7 off the sukk, just joined
« on: February 13, 2012, 10:31:00 PM »
This is quite a place. Not sure what I can do at the moment, but thoughts and everything else are pretty fragmented and dreamy. I have been a nic user for about 30 years, not sure exactly when I started, but somewhere around 16/17 years old. I just turned 47. Have attempted quit before but didn't succeed. I'm married to a great wife with two fantastic sons so I have everything to live for and don't need to increase my chances of cancer by sucking on poison all day. For the past 5 or so years I have been using Grizzly, prior to that Kodiak, and prior to that I can't remember. Flushed that shit down the toilet last week, Tuesday the 7th, for the last time and I am done with it.

Current state: Dreamy X One Zillion. Fog bank. Brain can't connect that well. That empty gush of void that sweeps through from time to time, especially during classic trigger moments. Anyway, it's great to be here and I may need some help.
