Mule, thank you for fixing that for me! I'll get it right tomorrow.

Whacko, thanks man. Yea, it hasn't been too bad till today. Highly stressful day and keeping it in check is very tiring. No fear though. No way am I going back! Yes, I tend to be a social drinker and I haven't been too social in a while :) So even after 100 days you still crave after a few drinks. Be strong and I will heed that advice.

George.....congrats on 5 days! The worst of the withdrawals is over.....at least it was for me. Don't know if you partake in a little acoholic beverage every now and then or not but I found having a couple of beers on a Saturday afternoon to be a trigger for me! Even after reaching 100 days if I go out for a couple of pops I start craving! Keep that in mind!

I added your name to roll call today. Look back over my pm links and it takes you step by step thru the process.

no worries.....took me a few days to get it right.

Don't worry about messing anything up.....we've had some legendary roll call "train-wrecks" while newbs figured this thing out.....

a quitter named Theowood still holds the record.... :P

Welcome to your final quit....5 days is awesome. Roll call has been made...

you are officially quit and a part of this brotherhood....may not mean a lot at the moment....but it will eventually.

Welcome, George!

Congratulations on making the decision to quit. You're on the right road and at the right site. If you need anything, just send me a PM.

You can do this! It's worth the fight!

Ahh, nothing better than waking up to a new quit. Great decision George. My story is identicle to yours with same time frames. Quit once 10 years ago for awhile. I now posted day 58 and do not look back. I occassionally hang out with chewers and quite frankly it repulses me. Read everything on here. There is enough information on this site to keep you busy for your first 100 days easily. Proud to quit with you today.
In the mid 70s, Walt Garrison said it was okay. Just a pinch between your cheek and gums. Been a slave since until joining this fine group.

Quit 12:00 pm (noon) October 15, 2011 after 34 years.

It's not how many times you get knocked down, but how many times you get back up that matters.

That's the shit right there George. You fight that shit. You can....you HAVE done it. You are quit my friend. You look at those fuckers with complete disdain. They are owned. They get up every morning and deposit their balls into the lingerie drawer while YOU go to the closet and grab your trusty "2x4 of Quit". That's how WE embrace the day. Swinging lumber at the fuckers that get in our way. You are no longer owned.

First serious quit attempt in 32 years
« on: December 12, 2011, 12:06:00 AM »
Hello all,

I started with Red Man and Levi in high school and switched to Kodiak when it first came out. I've been dipping for over 32 years (I'm 46 now). I had a lapse in usage about 15 years ago that lasted about 7 months. I quit because of bloody gums that scared the hell out of me at the time so I pretty much quit cold. I can't remember what got me back on.

So after 32 years I finally quit yesterday, 12-10-11. I was up to 1 can a day. As I write this I'm at about 30 hrs quit!

Monday will be especially challenging as one of my co-workers dips as well. Our offices are next to each other and I can hear him tapping the can when he loads up. In fact he left his can of Kodiak on his desk just a few feet from me as I write this. I have tossed all my stash but I can't touch his. I am rather proud that I can resist this early on.

Just wanted to say hello and wish everybody the strength to kick this demon.

George
