This has been my battle since a teenaged kid.. I told my boyfriend of 12 years I stopped 9 yrs ago and I haven't.. Afraid to tell him b/c he may leave me. What do I do n how do I stop this fixation I have?
Anyone gonna state the obvious here? It's gonna have to be me isn't it? Sigh....ok fine.

If you have an oral fixation, I'm sure he'll be happy to help you fill the void....just trying to help a brother out

The main thing is to quit so you don't have to continue the lie. You could tell him one more lie and tell him you just recently caved and started chewing again. I'm not sure if that is a good idea or not though. If your boyfriend is not addicted to anything and never has been it will be hard for him to truly understand your addiction. If you want to quit and you want to stay with him you are going to have to get him involved in your quit. Show him this site. Both of you look through it together and post and ask questions together. Educate yourselves with this site. Hopefully some other smarter and more experienced people chime in to help you. I don't think it would be a good idea to try to hide your quit from your boyfriend.

First off, listen to what Wt57 says, he's a smart cat. Secondly, if your b/f is gonna leave you because of an addiction without giving you a chance to quit, then take a shit on him because you deserve better.
Now, begin reading the HOF section of KTC. Those guys have a lot of experience, knowledge and pointers. Get involved (which means start talking and getting some phone numbers) with people from your quit group, they will be there to support you! Post Roll everyday. If you don't know what that is then read up on it. There is an entire section on it and instructions on how to do it. It is basically for accountability. Like, wt57 said, NO FUCKING NICOTINE...PERIOD (which means no nic gum, patches, cigarettes etc etc-100% nic free). What is your name so we all know? How long have you been chewing? Tell us a little bit more about you.

Good luck and if you need help, then ask for it!
You love nicotine more than your boyfriend? You have a secret relationship with the can? I did too, only I had been caught by my wife on and off. It may not have a gender but it was what I considered my mistress!

I realized that I chose nicotine over other things in my life. It was a hard reality to come to grips with. I wanted to quit but I was and still am an addict.

I quit, told my wife everything and our relationship is awesome. You have to break it off with tobacco! It must be a sudden, cold and mean break up.

Tell the nic bitch it's over. She is evil, kills. She won't leave you alone but if you are very stern and divorce her, each attempt to get back together will be weaker each time you say no and are mean and angry about it. Never let her think that she has a chance to get back with you.

First it isn't a fixation!!!! It is a full fledged addiction! Accept that, you are a fucking addict.

Well fuck! I see you have 2 choices , You can quit or you can continue living a lie! I lived my lie for over 38 yrs. This site provides some awesome support to quit. That being said beware; you are expected to post early every fucking day, live a 100% nic free life, give support to your quit brothers, if you fuck up don't expect sympathy it won't be there!

That being said get over to Welcome center read what you need to do. You will be August quit group.

This is a bad ass quit organization, no pussy footing around. Brace yourself and QLF. (Quit Like Fuck)
