Hey Chase feel free to log your experience here in your intro, too-- it'll be a reminder of what you don't want to go through ever again-- mine's a good motivator for me for sure, the early days were tough!

Keep posting roll, and making connections. The more you post here, the more people will get to know you too-- that can't hurt since you'll be gone for a while mid-quit.

Quit on man, get through the day then see if you can try it again tomorrow!
This info helped me early on, and still does today: https://whyquit.com/whyquit/linksaaddiction.html

Quitters I’ve met so far: Ihatecope, >Pinched<, T-Cell, grizzlyhasclaws, Canvasback, BaseballPlayer, Cbird65, ERDVM, BradleyGuy, Ted, Zeno, AppleJack, Bronc, Knockout, MookieBlaylock, Rdad, 2mch2lv4, MN_Ben, Natro, Lippizaner, Amquash, ChristopherJ, GDubya, SRohde  -- always eager to meet more!

Thanks all for the support and great responses. I do post one question to y'all... I will be returning to see for around3 months before I reach the HOF so what are some recommendations to keep role call up to date? I will have email occasionally but if you ask my wife it is spotty at best most of the time. I was planning if I find the right person just sending that person a email everyday and they may not get it every day but none the less the would receive all of them by the time I returned home. Any other ideas let me know, I already have a quit support group on board the submarine and a tobacco cessation group that I will be joining to help others as well.thanks again all!
Chase, it was nice to meet you in chat. Congrats on posting your day 1 and a great decision. I wish I had the smarts to quit when I was your age.
Since you will be at sea and unable to access the site from time to time, you need to live here when you can. Reach out to as many quitters as you can. Get their numbers. You can text your roll post to them or me. Check your inbox in the upper right of the screen. Them message there is from me.
If you miss roll, you'll catch some shit but more importantly you will be at risk if you are not accountable to your quit brothers. Check out someone like my quit brother Slug.go. He has been a solid quitter from the start and has lead our quit group. If you can get to a phone or computer, roll can be posted.
Thanks for your service and I am proud that there will be one less US service member with a dip in their mouth.
Quit with you!
sailor your service and sacrifice is much appreciated thank you.

roll is gonna be tough as you know, sending a post by e-mail every day is a good idea they will send once you get back.

another idea...one of the things that makes this place work is all the information on here, how about printing a ton of the words of wisdom, hof speaches ect...keep them around for the times you cannot get on KTC but you need to kill a crave.

Hey sailor,
Great call on your quit my friend!! Im very excited for you future dip free for your wife and kids!!

Just as a heads up, I would make sure for the next few weeks you arent going to be in charge of launching nukes off of destroyers or anything. For me, I had such bad brain fog the first few weeks I couldn't focus whatsoever. Keep an eye out for it.

Also, thank you for your service. I actually plan on doing some navy service after I graduate from my university. Its an honor to have you on the site to quit with.

Post roll, and make some accountability buddies in your group. The system is around because it works!

God Bless

Hey SailorChase congrats on your first day clean. Good job posting roll- do that first thing every damn day and then just keep your word for that day. They add up before you know it. It can be tough the first few days, so be ready by drinking a lot of water, getting exercise, and be good to yourself as you earn back your freedom from a nasty, evil addiction you probably never knew was being thrown your way. Here's a link I share often that has some info that helped me learn to hate nicotine: Nicotine Addiction 101.

Also read other quitters intro threads here, and there are some great materials at the Welcome Center here on KTC. Be tough, and be glad for this great and courageous decision you made!
you can do this Sailor, I would say get ready for the roller coaster, but maybe get ready to batten the hatches and weather that storm for the next few days is a better scenario....

you can do it, yell if you need anything.

Hello all,

As my name states I am a sailor and my name is chase and tonight is the night I said enough is enough. I have tried before but never had the support or actual want to quit. I am the father of 3 and marries to the love of my life which is just a couple of the primary reasons I want to quit. I have been dipping since I was 15 years old and 11 years is enough. I look forward to getting to know all of you, especially my support group. I do deploy still so more than likely there will be role calls missed however I will do my best to have my wife keep y'all up to date while I'm at sea. I am stoked to be with a group of I like minded quitters and already love the atmosphere fostered here!!! Please feel free to pm me with anything and I will help in any way I can. I live in georgia now and will going to texas here shortly so like I said I know there has to be a few people here in either on of those two places! Again I appreciate everyone here and the support I already know I'll receive and am proud to quit with everyone of you!!
There is never a better day to quit. Good job making that decision. We are all here to help each other overcome the cravings. Be a leader to your fellow sailors by showing them you can beat the want for tobacco.

Read everything on this site! KTC has all the info you need to quit. Jump in the water's fine. Gonna suck until it doesn't, but follow the plan because it works! PM me if you need anything.
