Justin,

Be prepared for that sensational dip dreams; I had them week one and two of my quit. Just get through them and you will start feeling better trust me...everyday I feel a little bit better!

Keep on working hard! PM me if you need to!!

Had a fucked up day yesterday got that tickle in the back of my throat like i'm coming down with the flu shitty day at work way more Incident reports than normal and then because I haven't heard from my mom in the last few days my wife (bless her heart) decides shes going full blown search party and starts looking up district court records and finds that my mom was arrested on the 21st of July for possesion of cds methamphetamine to be exact and then bonded herself out... are you fucking kidding me thats the part of it that really gets to me all my life my mom has been the most responsible person I know and then last year her and my abusive ass step-dad split up and since then she's just gone off the deep end i don't know. The good news is i'm not craving and I know that 1 problem + nic =2 problems and I actually still feel really good about my quit just pissed off and ranting.

The past few days have been a bitch so far I've been doing good but my life is bullshit right now my marriage is fucked up my wife even accused me tonight of sleeping with another woman but I didn't but I'm determined to stay quit im at 11 days and I refuse to let this bullshit that's going on in my life become an excuse to go back to dipping.
Justin, one thing you'll come across here is 1 problem + nicotine = 2 problems.

Keep it that simple and you'll get through whatever else is going on. Make sure you have a few folks to reach out to if things are really going south. Sending my digits over now.
To put pky's quote another way: dip will NOT improve any of the situations going on in your life. Take it ODAAT. You're going to get curveballs the rest of your life. Don't let self-induced mouth cancer be another one. You can do this Justin, awesome job reaching out.
Thanks guys I know that nicotine won't help me through this that's why i reached out to begin with because even if noone would've seen that post then at least i would've known it was there and me putting it on here is just me eliminating one more excuse which is helpful to me and if i rant then i let some of that anger and stress out thanks for helping me through

I am happy that your day 4 is nothing like mine was! Regardless of how easy it has been for you, keep your guard up. It only takes one bad decision to turn a quit into a stoppage.

I quit dipping on july 4th and so far it has been shitty not extremely difficult but not fun in any way shape or form but its getting easier to say no the cravings haven't died yet but I understand with this quit that ignoring the cravings wont hurt me
Congrats on the decision. Post roll every day, get to know your fellow quitters and be there for each other when needed.

Congratulations on your decision to quit. There are hundreds of people here that want to help you stay quit.

My recommendation is that you go to the Welcome Center. Learn what posting roll is, and how to do it. Then find your so October 16 quit group and post roll. Posting roll is the backbone of this community. It is our promise to not use nicotine. Get to know the others on your group. Stay quit. One day at a time.

3 days quit
« on: July 06, 2016, 11:20:00 PM »
I started dipping at the ripe old age of 12 at a high school football game one of my buddies who had been dipping for a while offered me a pinch of skoal wintergreen long cut behind the bleachers and i took it my little sister tried it at the same time she immediately spit it out gagging saying it was the nastiest thing she had ever tasted(thank god) I didn't feel the same way i fell in love instantly with the way it made me feel the next day I went to a small gas station that was owned and ran by an asian lady who had a reputation for selling to minors and I bought my first can, that one lasted me almost a week but with every can I bought I dipped more and more and the cans lasted less and less time until by the time i was 18 I was dipping 3 cans a day and had to get the cheapest can I could find to even be able to afford my habit I stopped several times over the last 15 years never more than a few weeks and there have even been times that everyone either thought i had stopped or never knew i dipped in the first place. Here I am at 27 a slave to something that i shouldn't have ever tried, something that is sending me to an early grave taking me away from my wife and kids I can't do this anymore I lurked on this site a lot on my other stoppages but never posted anything and just recently I decided I am full on done I have taken my last dip I know it's a hard battle and a life-long one but it's one that I am determined to win I will never use tobacco again
