Cody feel free to document your quit and what you experience here- it helps others see what kind of support you need, and it'll be a record of what you don't want to go through ever again, for later when the danger is complacency. It does get better fast- get through it all one day at a time, or one hour if necessary, or as small as it takes- minute by minute was required for me sometimes in the first days of my quit. It's SO worth it on the other side, and you never have to go back again once you understand how the stuff works!
This info helped me early on, and still does today: https://whyquit.com/whyquit/linksaaddiction.html

Quitters I’ve met so far: Ihatecope, >Pinched<, T-Cell, grizzlyhasclaws, Canvasback, BaseballPlayer, Cbird65, ERDVM, BradleyGuy, Ted, Zeno, AppleJack, Bronc, Knockout, MookieBlaylock, Rdad, 2mch2lv4, MN_Ben, Natro, Lippizaner, Amquash, ChristopherJ, GDubya, SRohde  -- always eager to meet more!

Cody saw your roll post that shit you are going through is part of gaining your freedom. Be glad you still have a jaw. Keep it up ODAAT one day at a time.

Cody-
Dumping your can is the first step- without doing that you were setting yourself up for failure.

Waking up and posting roll in Dec. 2014 class promising not to use nicotine in any form for one day is the next step. Then you do it again.

Also, as suggested earlier, come clean to Raider, your word is everything on this site. Addicts who are abusing will lie to continue using, addicts who are quit are honest to continue quitting.

We can support you but only you can quit for you. No one can quit for you and you can't quit for anyone else but you. You will hear this more than once if you read enough stuff on KTC: OWN YOUR QUIT.

Much like you fed your addiction every day, it's equally important to 'feed your quit' every damn day by reading different things on KTC, posting roll, exchanging numbers, helping others, listening to the old time quitters, getting on live chat, drinking the KTC kool-aid etc.

We didn't build this addiction because we dipped poison once, we built it because we continued to feed that addiction every day. If you want to be QUIT then you need to be as committed to feeding your quit everyday as you were to feeding your addiction.

Congrats on a great decision. It might not always feel like a great decision because the addict in you will try to convince you otherwise but deep down you know it's a great decision because it's the right decision.

Quit on.

Cody, congrats. I know how you feel right now, and it sucks bad. It's going to for awhile. Probably different for different guys, but by the 4th day I started feeling quite a bit better. There have been ups and downs since then, but it's a constant improvement. The freedom from nicotine after 23 years of bondage is incredible, and there is nothing that will take that away from me now. I'm quit with you today brother!

Well you a**holes sure know how to get to a man. 'Finger' It's all gone. The half can I had left is gone in the work dumpster. This feels like the right thing to do but it also feels like I'm turning my back on a loved one.
Dumpster Diving Exhibition in 1 Hour folks. Location is Cody's work place.

Flush that shit Cody and seriously, if your quit is half-assed like that statement of "Loved One" we here at KTC have a lot of work to do.
Ha ha Mog,
I hope they have security cameras on Codys work trash cans....
No dumpster diving, I opened it up and poured it in. Everything you guys have said has been spot on. I've been saying "tomorrow" for a year now. I want to quit for me and my health most importantly. When you sit there in disgust with the fact that you let a can of worm dirt rule your life is one of the most helpless feelings. I don't want to feel that anymore.
read, read, read man. It'll get kinda tough for a while- you gotta be ready, be motivated, and honestly being pissed at that poison helps. If you feel pain, you are supposed to because they make the product so that it is very tough to quit. It can hurt. Fuck that though, take your life back man. If you are here now, you have at your fingertips all the knowledge and support you need. When you tried to quit in the past, that's what was missing- knowledge and a support network. Get really active here. Read, make friends. You can do this man, if I did anyone can, I was one of the biggest chronic addicts around, with all sorts of factors indicating a predisposition for addiction. Go get it man! Be tough!
Hey Cody, I get how you are feeling about losing a friend and probably being afraid to say goodbye. I felt the same way. You have got to just dive in and have faith that the love you feel for your dip is a big huge fucking lie! Read as much as you can about our ADDICTION. You have got to really want this. Its too hard of a thing to do unless you are fully committed and want to be free more than anything. The temporary pain you will feel in the beginning is a small price to pay for being free.
Just remember it will suck 'til it don't then it wont....sM Keep the KTC slogans going on in your head during the tough times. You are never alone just reach for your phone that will get full of numbers from total strangers....
Very funny Thumblewort. Just making sure I get my sage advice across!
Like I tell my wife, "I heard you the 3rd time".........
I think Cody is starting to come around. It is slowly sinking into his brain what is best for him. All the times of wanting to quit and couldn't have come to an end and he is a little sad, but understanding. Keep following the guidance here brother, there is no lie you can tell, no addict speak we don't know, and everybody here has a good feeling of where your quit is just by your words. You will be like that in a couple weeks. Quit with us bro, post roll and promise us just today you won't have a tug.

I can tell you a neat thing to read is read the affects nicotine has on your body. Then read the article about how many hours it takes you to recover. the Healing begins immediately my friend break those chains of addiction and never look back. you have a choice to save yourelf and your family and you NEED to take it. every single person on this site has been there where you are. let me say that again, EVERYBODY HAS BEEN WHERE YOU ARE. so we arnt making this up and we arnt being dicks for no reason. read the stories and get connected. let me know if your can is your loved one in 100 days. heres a secret: it wont be.

somebody help me out and post that link to the article about the healing timeline.

Rdad likes to repeat himself sometimes 'Crazy' . Cody, we post roll call around here, it's our promise to ourselves and each other that we will not use nicotine for 24 hours. Please post roll in your new December pre-HoF group, so we can quit together today.

Oh, and if you have have "loved ones" that are slowly killing you, please seek help. It is cancer and death in a can, and not a friend of mine or yours.
