Dude I'm definitely quitting like a mother fucker. I'm not going to use exclamation points because I'm already tucked into bed. I was up until around midnight with the dip. It's time to finally listen to my body and sleep when it's tired. Goodnight everybody. Stay strong, tomorrow should be a beautiful day.
Mr. Skoal, what you have just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

CDMAVS, Glad to have you as part of the November Class...
Just be a sponge, all the time you would have wasted dipping, spend that time here learning. there is so much info here, and if you cant find it just ask there are a lot of "older distinguished gentlemen and ladies" Who want to help... but just make sure that you fully understand when you post roll, it is not just a simple statement... it is a PROMISE TO ALL WHO HAVE COME BEFORE YOU, AND TO ALL WHO ARE QUITTING ALONG SIDE YOU, THAT YOU WILL NOT USE ANY NIC THAT DAY.
I SAY TODAY I QUIT LIKE A MOTHERFUCKER, CDMAVS, YOU GONNA STAND BESIDE ME AND QUIT LIKE A MOTHERFUCKER TOO??? WHO IS IN!

Well Mthomas, I think you're definitely spot on with the age discrimination there.  Considering I only glanced at your post before I drove to work this morning, I was a little pissed off on the drive.  Thirty minutes later I got to work and read your whole post.

Frankly, the whole reason I came here was so that I didn't have to do this alone.  I've tried that plenty of times, even using Chanitx, which worked until I got off of it.  I tried the gum, but I ended up chewing two at a time to get a buzz.  Haha what a waste of money.

I do agree about staying leery of cats my own age.  I can't talk with the ones who do dip or smoke, because they'll just call me a pussy or whatever.  And the ones that don't dip are of no help because they don't have any perspective.  Considering my mom thinks I've been quit for a year, I can't very well ask her for anymore help.  So I'm left here with a bunch of grey beards on the internet who have more experience than I do with this stuff.  Sounds perfect to me.

To everyone else, thanks for the messages of support.  Here's to a good day without dip!
Hey!!

Screw you pal! My beard isn't grey at all!!!!! Sure, I have a white hair here and there, but doesn't everyone?

Hello? Anyone? Grey beard hair? I'm 32....everyone has one, right?
hey mavs, I'm 26 buddy and it's never too young to quit.

I told my dipping buddies at work that I'm quit and asked for their help by not dipping around me or offering my any. Like you, I expected to get called a pussy and have my quit thrown in my face (after they pissed on it), but surprisingly I got a lot of respect. Guys are keeping up with me and asking how I'm doing, if I'm keeping quit, what am I doing to deal. I've even shown a few of them the site and talked to them about quitting.

For sure folks our age still think they are invincible, and since your quit threatens their addiction (by quitting you are saying their use is wrong and evil) you may get some who lash out against it. They want you to cave so they can feel better about being addicted, because if everyone does it then its ok.

Those people can go fuck themselves and you don't need them. I don't care if its your bff Justin Beibes, stay away from that negative influence.

I'll quit with you til we're old old men (you know, like 45) and beyond.
I prefer to call it "Salt  Pepper" or "Distinguished Grey" or "Hot as FUCK like George Clooney".....but not grey beard. LOL

I shave because my whiskers are like a calico cat. Grey, Red, brown, and white. I don't know my hair color because I don't have any hair.

My penis isn't long but is sure is skinny! My ball sack hangs like it just doesn't care anymore.

You know what, I am quit and I like me. ;)

You guys are funny... I'm old (44) and I have grey hair (some) but I'm strong as a fucking ox... There was nothing like KTF when I was 25. I wish there was.
No one ever gave me any good advice when I was 25, except a boss that taught me to work my ass off. so here's some that I wish someone told me.
Quit, stay quit, own your quit. take the money you save and invest it. Maybe buy nic gum stock?lol You'll be able to retire earlier than me.
Hopefully you get what I'm saying. aloha

So I quit! I quit for me! Because I don't want to die, life is so much better without nicotine, and I want my honor back. I want to keep my word. I want to be the man I intend to be, and have my actions demonstrate my integrity. I want to live my ideals. And I will, one day at a time.

Haha if it makes you feel any better, I already have a few whit hairs popping up on my head and even my arm. My mom's genetics aren't the best for keeping your hair color for too long.

mav,

The formula to quitting is simple.

1) Read the website
2) post roll
3) keep your word
4) use the tools to help with 3)
5) sleep
6) repeat

It works day in and day out for hundreds, if not thousands, of people on this website.  Read the welcome section at the top of the page.  That tells you how and why this place works.  Next, post roll everyday in November 2012.  I think I already saw you in there, so good for you.  Lastly, explore all of your options on how to use the site and it's members to get through craves and rough times in your life.

We are all here to help.
Welcome Cameron. You can do this!
Wedge gave you all the secrets. It is simple, but not always easy.
Click on the pinkish Welcome Center tab above and read.
Post roll every morning, promise your quit today
Hang close to the site/chat if you are craving
Get to know your quit brothers, help them out
Do it again tomorrow!
PM me if I can help.
Age Discrimination here.

Sorry for being politically incorrect here but I am passing judgement on your age. Not that it is impossible to quit at 25 but there are some things that your age worries me about being successful.

First I am so freaking jealous that you found KTC at 25!!!! You are so much smarter than I am to break the shackles of addiction now. I had to wait until I was 41 to realize how much I hated the bondage.

So you are smarter but here is some wisdom I can offer. Don't be a tough guy. Be a determined guy. Determined guys use every tool and weapon at their disposal. They don't care how they look they care about accomplishing the job. What does that mean?

Get involved! Don't gut this out and feel like you have to face your demons on your own. Under 30's think it is bad ass to do it alone. When you are craving, you need to go to chat, text or call for back up! Always keep your word and if you are at risk to break your promise, call immediately just to talk to a fellow quitter. (exchange numbers)

When this gets easy, never think you are cured. Post roll every morning you wake and make the decision first thing to be quit. You will get to a point where you think you have it licked....You never have it licked but it gets easy.

Other cats your age may not be good for your quit. Don't follow the crowd if they are walking you off a cliff. Stay aware of your goal and stay away from dangers to cave.

Welcome and I hate you for being smarter than me. PM me and I will send you my number.

First Day
« on: August 06, 2012, 11:16:00 AM »
Today's my first day of quitting for good. I've temporarily quit about a thousand times, so I'm good at quitting, just not staying quit. I started while playing baseball when I was 15 and I'm now 25. I was quit from age 18 to 19, but then started smoking cigarettes. Did that until about age 21 when I traded the smoke for the spit. Been dipping ever since. About a can and a half per day now.

Anyways, I quit for about 3 months last year using Chantix. It was amazing. The sky was bluer and everything just seemed brighter. Wierd. I don't wanna use that stuff again and I can't do it myself. I've been checking this site out every now and then for like 2 years, but always thought I could do it myself. Wrong!

I'll be on here every day to help with my cravings and escape mycubicle world for a minute or two. Thanks everyone.

Cameron
