Accountability, determination and drive will get you there my friend. Start believing this is going to happen. You make it happen. Stop depending on wishes, wants, maybe's and hope. TAKE IT, IT,S YOURS!!!

1000's have done it using this site and you can to. If I can make it 471 days you can make it today. One day at a time and you can have back a lot of what the poison has stolen. Never again for any reason and you can keep it. Need anything let me know. Quit with you today.
Welcome to best place to "be quit".
I can see you really want this. It's always good to see a slave taking his freedom back.
You're not alone, you're not here by accident.

It's real simple, yet probably the hardest thing you'll ever do....
1. Post roll...when your feet hit the floor every a.m. This is your promise "not" to dip today.
2. Keep your word...your word is good, right?
3. Make it to bed, Wake and repeat.

If I can do this...so can You.
It does get waaaayyyyyyyy better....it's hard work and the best thing I ever did for myself and my family.

Remember, 1 problem + nicotine = 2 problems

We were not born with the Poison in our mouths.

ODAAT = One day at a Time.

Cheers.

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.

Totally agree. It will help some. At least the first few days when you are ready to tear their heads off. Sounds like you picked a good name though. Hang in there, the first few will suck balls. Drink lots and lots of water. Have something to keep your mouth busy. Hang in there one day/hour at a time.
Not only will explaining to them that you're quitting let them know why you're being an asshole (cause you will be) but it will also give you an additional layer of accountability. If you let them in on your quit, it will still be about and FOR you... but they can be there to help you along the way.

There is some sound advice coming your way from the previous posters. And there's also MCO's avatar to stare at should you get tired of reading posts.

Listen, there are 2 rules here. #1 Post roll (glad to see you're working on this) and #2 don't use nicotine in any form. We quit one day at a time. You can't get to day #2 until you win day #1. That's how it works and when we post roll, we promise to each other not to use nicotine for that day. We promise to each other and build up our accountability. No longer are you allowed to be accountable only to yourself.

Anyhow, I think in your case, since the quit is so ripe right now, is to quit every hour. Come to this site, vent, and express your rage here. We've all been there and will gladly accept your rage; possibly redirect it for you. Make that promise every hour and think of hour zero as your lift off. Every hour you win is that much further from ground zero; realizing that if you cave all that work you just accomplished goes down the drain. Before you know it, you'll have day 1 in sight.

Welcome Brooder,

Congrats on the quit thus far, this is by no means a easy task if it were there would be no nicotine addicts. It's common to have a difficult time sleeping in the early stages of your quit. Try melatonin pills, some people (me) swear by them, others can't stand em. As for alternatives there are many types of fake dip out there, some will be easier to find, some will imitate dip better than others, but if you're craving there are many other things you can shove in your dip to help you beat your cave: coffee grinds, tea bags, atomic fireballs, seeds, any hard candy, etc. You should start feeling better after three days or so.

Some advice: Get involved, don't just post roll and run...you have to reach out and connect with your fellow quitters. Above all else what keeps me quit is the fact that every day I promise my fellow quitters/friends/brothers that I will not use nicotine. I post roll with them, live chat with them, text them, facebook with them, etc. I had to put some time and effort into getting to know my fellow quitters and so will you. Read/post as much as you can, live chat should be your new home for the next couple weeks/months/years, start a Sept 14 text group, etc...

Quitting with you today Jason, send me a PM if you need a number or just want to chat.

Explains how to post roll. "PC How to Post Roll" is a link to a video on how to post. You'll get the hang of it.

Stay strong buddy... remember these days and know you only have to go through it once then freedom!

Start drinking a shit load of water. Every time you walk by the pisser you should have to use it. Get yourself some seeds, candy, whatever eases you. Fake dip can help too.

Smokey Mountain is prolly most common. Most Wal-Mart, or grocery stores have it.

Send me that PM! I don't give my number to just anyone. Take responsibility over your quit. Initiate the beginning of freedom from nic.

Welcome Brooder! If you're serious about quitting you're definitely in the right place. Here at KTC we quit like fuck together a day at a time.

Read over the welcome center:
forum/55560/

Post roll everyday, early in the morning. Your quit group will be September. That's your promise to us and to yourself that you're going to stay quit for the day (24 hours). Honesty is everything, to us and to yourself.

Start gathering phone numbers and build your web of accountability. We will hold you accountable for your quit, and we expect you to hold us accountable as well. Actually text and/or call those numbers you get in good and bad times. Build your brotherhood.

Live Chat is a good place to connect, get numbers, shoot the shit...

If you can promise to keep the poison out of your face today I'll be happy to quit with you.
Send me a PM if you want a phone number to start your web.

First Day
« on: May 31, 2014, 03:08:00 AM »
Hello everyone, my name is Jason Stone. I have dipped for 17 years. I turned 31 on 3/30 of this year. I have decided to quit for the obvious reason of not getting cancer. Never has that actually been stronger to make me quit, until I realized I am getting older, and both my parents had cancer. My mother was born with it, and at the age of 20, her thyroid was removed and the tumor was gone. Thank God. My father passed away on 8/25/2004 from cancer. My grandmother also on 4/20/2000. I have tried to quit 4 or 5 times, and the cravings just dragged me back. I did not get any sleep last night...literally. I dipped before i went to bed, thinking i would wake up at least 4 hours later, and just go from there. But, I lied there for 30 minutes, until i got mad enough to just get up. That was at 1:45, and it's 3:02 now. As you already know, the craving is strong. I have nothing to use as a substitute until my g/f goes to the store later. I have a paper clip sticking out of my mouth. Just got finished exercising too.
I know i cannot do this on my own. I am a Christian, and i know God is helping me every step of the way. That's also why i am writing this. One problem i know i am gonna have, is that i will lose my cool. My g/f has 3 boys...ages: 7, 10, 11. They are all way out of control, which adds to the stress so much. The 11 yr old especially. So, i'll just have to take 1,000 walks a day i suppose to get away from the yelling and fighting. I chose this site b/c I did some research over and over again. I've decided to quit more times than i could actually count. I've read pages on this site more times than i can count. I knew i did not come to this site without a purpose. I just don't want to fail like i did the last time. I caved within 2 hours! Not going to happen this time. I've had enough. Yes i miss the hell out of it. Nicotine is your best friend, then it becomes your worst enemy. Well, sorry for the book here. Thanks for the help i will receive. I can tell this is a REAL support group. I came across some fake ones before i found this one. I will not list names. Thank you and God bless!
