Mike-Welcome! I see you posted Roll Call. Great! It makes all the difference. Posting Roll and then keeping your word that you will not use nic for that day is how we get through this. As others have said, luck has nothing to do with it. Post Roll, keep your word, repeat. Remember, we are all Quit with you and we are Quit together. I dipped for 30 years (Kodiak) and I have found that the wintergreen Smokey Mountain helps a lot. If I can help do not hesitate to contact me. Today I posted Roll Call and today I am Quit. (Day 10) Peace

I quit one day at a time. I will quit with you today. I bet I quit tomorrow too, but I will worry about then.

I am glad you are here. PM me if I can help in anyway.

So, yes I am new to this site and new to the program. I am hoping to kick my habit and trying hard to be positive about my intentions to quit. I tell you, 16 hours in, and the cravings and head games are tough!!!

Wish me luck!!!
You don't need luck, you need to change your attitude QUICK!!!!!!!!

Do not hope to quit, KNOW you will quit! Don't try hard to be positive, BE positive. You are in for the fight of your life, do not go into it ill prepared. Post roll every day, give us your word you will not quit and stick to your word. A man that can not keep his word is not a man.

I will not wish you luck, I will DEMAND of you that you keep your word.

Buckle up buttercup and hang on tight.

Edited to say I see that you posted roll. Now you have done it! Can't turn back now. Be the quit!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome Mike,

Glad you are quit. couple of things to settle on the way in. We don't try to quit. We quit here. Trying indicates the possibility of failure. We refuse to acknowledge that possibility. How in the world can we be so cocky in our success? Great question! We decide that we can do this for the next 24 hours. We can do anything for one day, right? We wake up in the morning and post roll first thing, which is our word to everyone that we will not use nicotine for today. We place our integrity on the line. We keep our promise. Tomorrow we wake up and post, make that promise again, and quit one day at a time. There is no luck involved. It is simply a daily decision made over and over. So today you aren't trying to quit, today you ARE quit.

Today is gonna suck, but soon you will be living life in freedom. It is fantastic.

Glad to be quit with you,

30

  • Interests: I am a huge fan of hockey, the Kings are my team. I also follow the San Diego Chargers and a casual fan of baseball. On my spare time I like to BBQ with friends and just relax. My biggest interest right now is kicking this 16 year chew habit of mine!!!

Going for it!!

Hi, My name is Mike and I am a chew-aholic. I am about 16 hours in my decision to stop chewing, the fake shit arrived yesterday in the mail. The flavoring had a raisin brand taste with tabasco seasoning. Odd mix, but whatever, hopefully it strays me away from the real dip.

I have dipped primarily Kodiak for almost 16 years, started in high school, lasted through college, and carried it on to my professional life. Not one person during that time said how cool it was that I dipped. If I couldn't find Kodiak, then Copenhagen or Skoal or Grizzly would have to hold me over. Well fuck that, it is now Hooch alternative dipping brand and it's odd taste!!

So, yes I am new to this site and new to the program. I am hoping to kick my habit and trying hard to be positive about my intentions to quit. I tell you, 16 hours in, and the cravings and head games are tough!!!

Wish me luck!!!
