Chawley - We’re steaming into South Dakota to pick up Chawley who is an Air Ambulance Pilot and a married quitter raising 2 daughters and 1 boy. At 16 years old, this killer started chewing Skoal straight, Skoal mint and Copenhagen. He asked we contact his lawyer should there be an accident on the train. He is bringing Pheasant breasts and sunflower seeds on the train to share with everyone. The craziest thing Chawley has ever done was to run from the cops on a traffic stop and then gave the K9 unit the slip. Well done brother. Well done. To celebrate this 100 days of quit Chawley is going to 1. Post roll. 2. Mix a large crown and coke. 3. Look forward to the next 100 days. He is looking forward to the next 100 days because he pledges to stick with KTC at least till Day 200. His advice to a new quitter is to , “Do it the KTC way! “ I can’t think of better advice than that. Favorite hobbies include Hunting and Fishing. His favorite avatar on KTC is his own, “John Wayne is the shit, I do however love the bouncing boobs”. He finds Evil_Won, sportsfan231, Phil16, ogwhite the most inspiring on KTC and said they were all there for him early and often.

Choad would be a more fitting name in my opinion. Congrats on being 90+ days and thanks for your inspiration, it has made me realize there is a chance I too can quit!

Hello all,

My name is Jake and i'm from South Dakota. Pretty much been chewing since i was a young 16 year old dumbass. I tried quitting a few times over the years. A week here or a month there but i would just start smoking to get my nic fix. I've tried the patch a few times and it would work, but as soon as i took the patch off I'd feel like shit for a few days and i'd go back to chewing.

I can't figure out why i ever even got hooked on that nasty shit. The first time was a nasty pinch of Skoal cherry and it sent me running out of the duck blind with the squirts and some dry heaves. Yet after 18 years here i am trying to quit that nasty shit. I never thought i could until I saw this massive online community of quitters, now I know that with support from all of you, i've got a shot and i 'll get it done. I owe it to myself, my wife, and our three beautiful children. My quit started on 9-28-13. Thanks to all who have reached out to me so far!

chawley
Welcome Jake  congrats! I got pretty sick off one of my first dips too, yet like you here I am years  years later. The support here is awesome, PM me if you want more numbers.

Welcome Chawley!!
Prepare for.one helluva ride!!

I'm on day 4 and we r in the same HOF class.

My advice, let ur time in the suck (first few days) develope, and sharpen ur hatred for nicotine.

You will need that hate to be sharp and light always at the ready so you can slay the nic bitch.

I'll send you a pm with my digits later.

Hey man. Congrats on the decision. I'm in the same boat and it's gonna be shitty row to hoe but we can do it. I've got 6 days under my belt and tomorrow will be 7. One day at a time bro
You will do this Jake. We work it out one day at a time (ODAAT) here. Don't worry about forever or even a month from now. Just post roll today, keep your promise today, wake up tomorrow and repeat.

You've got some tough ass dudes in your group and they will help you through the inevitable fog and "suck." Embrace the suck so you never have to go through this thing again.

Best piece of advice: read everything you can on this site multiple times. Read intros, forums, hall of fame speeches, etc. Also check out the main site (next to the welcome center tab at top) and read everything on there. Latch onto the stuff that resonates and will help you keep your promise to yourself, your brethren, your family, and your loved ones.

Check your inbox in the top right corner of your screen. I've sent you a PM with my number so you can reach out when you need some support. I quit with you today.

jz
yeahhhh budddyyyyy! Look at you quit and fighting it everyday. Fellow Jan 14 member with you here, I'm with you on the nic fix idea back in the day. Seems like the last few times I attempted to stop I would just swap nicotine sources around but ultimately I would still get nicotine.

If you ever need anything or want to shoot the shit just contact me. Glad to be quitting with you today.
Good job choosing to quit, chawley. Best decision I ever made, and I know you will feel the same if you do this for real.

One minor quibble:
Quote
i've got a shot
You have more than a shot today. You posted roll, so that's a guarantee that you will not use nicotine today. If that guarantee is in jeopardy, get in contact with someone here ASAP. Better yet, get a few numbers so that you know who you will go to in advance. Even better still, anticipate the times when you think you might struggle and plan ahead how you will deal with them. In any event, we're just talking about today, and you've already promised, so we're not talking about "shots" unless you mean "slam dunk."

Tomorrow, post your promise again. Easy peasy. Hit me up if you'd like to add me to your emergency list.
Hey, you are a bad ass and became one just as soon as you posted roll. This is gonna suck bad. It's gonna hurt like hell, it's gonna f-ing piss you off, it's gonna make your brain stupid, basically it's gonna suck for Awhile, like pure unadulterated hell. But then the fog begins to clear and the light begins to shine, and the body begins to heal and.....well....life begins to improve dramatically. I am 158 days today. Dig into this site and follow it the way it is intended and if you want to quit don't try to change certain parts you don't like, follow it to a T. My number is sitting in your pm, use it if you need it. I will quit with you minute by minute if need be. Erussell 158.
I would rather lose to a cheater than win as a cheater.

Welcome, you've come to the right place my friend. Only one thing i can promise happens around here. QUITTING!!

Let's start by getting your mind in the right place.

1 You stated you used the patch before and it worked. If that was true you wouldn't be here. The patch or any other nrt does not work and you are proof.

2 You stated you don't know how you got hooked. Well if by the word hooked you mean addicted i have your answer. Your addicted to one of the most addictive drugs known to man. This is why 1 is to many and 1000 is never enough. Realize this and you can begin to take your life back.

3. You stated you are trying to quit. Throw try, maybe and hope in the same place you trashed your stash. We don't try,, we QUIT!!!

Go top left,,,, welcome center. Read and learn how and why we post roll. Pay particular attention to why. You will be surprised at how much accountability and support will help you. I, like you, was unsuccessful many times at quitting. What has made all the difference is the support and accountability this site offers. If my calculations are right you will be on day 6 and in the January hof group. Join us, stay a while and make some friends. Glad to be quit with you.
