Good job Hooks. Next steps are are to make a promise in your new quit group, which is October, and focus on quitting for just this one day. The more you reach out the harder it will be to cave. I quit with you today.

Dude, seriously, you have pouches in your car door? Don't be a dumb ass, get rid of them. You are getting off one of the most addictive substances. If it were easy you would have stopped a long time ago. Drink lots of water, take ibuprofen for your headaches, get some exercise every day, let the people in your life know why you are irritable.

Hi. Don't do something permanently stupid because you temporarily are experiencing withdrawal. I understand you have a headache and feel miserable. People with the flu feel the same way. Take a Tylenol if it's a problem and tough it out. Temporary discomfort is not a reason to cave. Nothing you're experiencing right now will kill you, but tobacco sure as hell will. I haven't met a person yet that couldn't handle nicotine withdrawal. I've met many who CHOSE not to handle it, but none that COULDN'T handle it. My point is simple - find your sack and don't turn back.

On a good note, everything you're feeling right now will pass, but it's going to require willpower, accountability, and a strong desire to want to quit. Do what the others said and flush the content of your cans down the toilet. Don't put it in the trash, don't put it out of reach, or in the car. Deposit that shit directly into your town's sewer system where it belongs. Allow yourself to feel terrified or regretful as you do it - it doesn't matter. Your money was wasted the moment you bought it, so there is no harm in flushing it even if the can is full. All that matters is that it's gone and stays gone. Stick with your quit and you'll be feeling better and better by the day.

Sam, you are through the very worst of it. Pouches in your car door or elsewhere are an invitation to cave -- to fail.

Step 1. Get those (and any others you have stashed) and flush them down the toilet.

Step 2. Go to your quit group (October 15) post roll, say hello.

Step 3. Exchange digits (via PM) with your fellow quitters. They are where you are. Together you will get past this. Together everyone on this site handles this addiction one day at a time, every damn day.

You made an excellent decision - your life is more than nicotine. Proud to quit with you!

After powering through three days of a foggy mess I have emerged into the fourth day. Coaching in Huntington Beach with the Torrey Pines football team was a blessing in disguise because it helped me take my mind off the hellish headache and non-stop cravings. Today has been full of built up anger, and I am not sure why. I seem to be isolating myself and being very short with my parents. ItÂ’s like this nicotine demon is pissed because he is slowly being chocked out of my head and body. I am stronger than this evil monster, and I do not need him to survive. I need to reach out to people and tell them what I am going through, because I want it to stop. I want the headaches to stop pulsing in my temples and back of head and my forehead. I want a clear mind, and I canÂ’t see it right now. I am so close to going out to my car and putting in two grizzly wintergreen pouches that I left in the side door of my car.
