78 days and counting.......very happy.

I stopped by the local quick mart the other day to pick up a soda.  The people working there know me as I used to stop by daily to buy my poison.  So I put my soda and candy on the counter and the girl asks me if I want some Skoal as it's on sale.  I told her no, not today.  She looked at me strangely and asked if I quit to which I replied - yes.  She then said "awwww, that's too bad you quit".  I packed up my stuff and left.

I don't understand - what is too bad about quitting?  Why would someone say that?

Anyhow - 78 days!
I am not a conspiracy guy but there are some people that think quitting is too bad.

1) Those that profit off your addiction. You no longer give your money to them. They lose their bottom line when you quit.

2) Politicians - They justify you to pay more taxes. They won't say it but the more tobacco sales, the more money they have. Citizens don't seem to get their panties in a wad if they raise taxes on tobacco.

3) Out of control addicts - You are living proof that quitting and not partaking is an option. You make them look silly when they say they can't quit.

Those people that think it is a bad thing to quit can go piss up wind for all I care.
I approve ^^^ that message.

Good choice John.

Woke up yesteray with intense craves! Had a NIC dream I woke up from.

Just so happens I had a dental appointment scheduled yesterday to get 2 cavities filled. Went to the appointment with big craves. After the dental visit - no craves!

Point of the story - next time you have craves - go get some dental work done. It will fix the craves albeit I feel like I got punced in the jaw now instead. :P

Day 20 is here and I know two things to be true:

1. I'm addicted
2. I'm still quit

Fuck nicotine.
The day I admitted I was addicted to nicotine was the day I controlled nicotine instead of nicotine controlling me. It does not make quitting easy, it just means I call the shots.

You have made an important realization. Well done.

Hello all,

I chew(ed) for a dozen or so years. Past couple years I've been at 1+ cans/day. Spent a year abroad doing 2 tins/day.

Just woke up one morning and said no more. I've been 8 days free of dirt but still in the fog.

Alot of people don't understand what I'm working through so I decided to join KTC. Looking forward to catching up.

Thanks.

Wow, day 15. Tough one today. I woke up this morning and immediately knew today would be a challenge. Not gonna cave but I just wanted to put it in print that day 15 is being a son of a bitch.
John you got this wrapped up, I ain't worried about. Just remember when it gets tough, open vice, insert nuts and repeat if necessary. Proud of you, keep it up.

Kick it's ass John. You can make it. Don't let it get to you. Punch a heavy bag if you need to. Day 15 will end.
