First day off the tin. Not sure if KTC will help....assuming it will. 48 yr old spider biologist....work at a university....lots of time to chew in the office. Avid hunter who chews in stand as well. Road time as well a concern. What the heck do I substitute in for my old friend? Gum? Non tobacco stuff? Do a kojak and start on loppypops? Happy to be in the group...wife and kids are happy I made the choice to try to stop. Cheers all! 'oh yeah' 'oh yeah'
Hey There! KTC most certainly can help as long as you do your part. Start by posting roll in the April 17 group. I'm typing on my phone and I'm not sure how to post links but if you need help finding it let us know. For me I chewed the snot out of seeds for a couple weeks, especially while I was in my office during the work week. I then switched over to sugar free gum and that seems to help. Oh, I also ate a crap load of food. All of this helped me get through that first wave of suck! And it will suck for awhile, no doubt about it. You need to make up your mind that this is it and just get it done!! It's life or death man and you need to treat it that way. That's how I and so many others feel about this and the reason I'm 272 days without that crap. We post roll ASAP (like after you take a leak in the morning). Spend some time reading and interacting with others who are just like you! I'm not going to say good luck, cause we don't need luck, we just get it done!! Glad you found us, this will work if you do your part!!
Hey master and welcome. If I can do this you can. I am 51 and dipped for 35 years. I dipped ten hours a day at work and any time I was outside. I have been quit for 100 days today. Use whatever keeps you quit, whether it is fake dip, gum, hard candy, seeds or whatever, as long as it is not nicotine. I used Smoky Mountain, still do occasionally.
Read everything you can on this site. There are three principles to follow; post roll early every day and promise not to use nicotine, support others and be supported by them, and be willing to be held accountable. This is done by swapping numbers with other members here.
Stay strong and stay quit.
Master - Everything you've been told by these guys is spot on. Your wife and kids are happy but in the end this is about you wanting to quit. Obviously if you don't want it it's not going to matter.
The next couple of days are more than likely going to be some of the worst days of your life. It impacts everyone differently. Do your family and yourself a favor and vent/post to us.
