This is my introduction, I'm 37, been a long haul trucker for 16 years, never used tobacco until about 2006, when I was working with some fellas and I decided I needed something to make me "cool", and I absolutely hate smoking, so that was not an option.
Anyway Ive been wanting to quit for at least 10 years, Ive had a few short successful tries in the last 6 months, lasting a week or two. Last time I thought I had it licked,until I got home and started drinking beer,and my brain told me I just had to have a dip :/ , and I was right back to where I started. But I never realized until I started reading on here,and the web, just how dangerous dip is. I thought the bad stuff was only for smokers, like heart disease and stuff. I was astonished to learn that 1 can of chew equals 4 packs of cigs in nicotine. I mean OMG, if I was smoking 4 packs a day, I'd say to myself, Ive got a serious problem! But in fact thats exactly what Ive been doing all along.
I just want to get this crap out of me, and beat it once and for ALL! I rely heavily on Life savers and other kinds of candy for oral support during my quitting phases.
