Day 18 for me. My approximately 25 year friendship with the Kodiak bear is now a thing of the past. The first week is the worst - so stay strong. Depend on this site and its members - this is the strongest online group I've ever seen. Reach out to me or any of us if you need support. But don't be a fuckup and go back to the can. You are too good for that.

Welcome Matt! I'm part of the April group. Cold turkey is the way to roll. Like these gents have recommended, get some gum, fake dip, hard candy, whatever. I have been doing a combo of all I can. Drink lots of water and get in as many workouts as possible. You can do this. I'm on day 10 and I'm a suit and tie guy. You're not going to let a guy like me prove to be tougher than a guy like you, are you? You are a bad ass, so post roll every day and quit each day with us! If I can help, shoot me a pm.

Thanks guys I really appreciate it.  You guys go cold turkey? Seeds? The fake shit?
Cold Turkey is the ONLY WAY to QUIT. This is a NO nicotine site and a QUIT SITE! Do what ever you need to do to stay away from the Nicotine. Water, fire, seeds, fake chew, coffee grounds, hard candy. Don't mess with the NRT (Nicotine replacement treatment) it will only make the suck last longer. Post roll and promise not to use nicotine in any form. Then be ready for a wild ride, the daily prize being freedom and feeling fucking wonderful! You can do this! PM me if you have any questions,  concerns, or to exchanged phone #.

I quit with you

Everyone here is cold turkey, that means no nicotene replacement therapy, no nicorette gum, no lozenges, no patches! But you can chew all of the regular gum, beef jerky, seeds or even herbal dip that you want. Just no nicotine! 'finger point'

What ever you use I would recommend switching it up, chew gum for a bit, switch to seeds, do that for a bit and switch to atomic fireballs, etc. I pretty much chewed gum and beef jerky for the first two months and my teeth were killing me, I started throwing seeds in the mix and it helped out.

I've been chewing Copenhagen for 10 years now. I work in the fire service and it doesn't matter what truck/station you go to everybody chews. I have tried to quit in the past but this time I have got to do something different. Have some kind of plan or tips from all you guys to make this time be the last time! I am on day 3.
Welcome. We don't "try" here. We do. We quit one day at a time. We do this by posting role every day which is giving your word you wont use nicotine for that day. Check out the welcome center tab at the top of the page to learn how to do that. Its in faggy pink.

Sound simple I know, but it's not. Its very very hard, especially in the beginning. I chewed 2 cans of kodiak for 15 years and have been quit for 221 days now. It hasn't always been easy but it is certainly worth it.

Taking your health back, taking your freedom back, taking your LIFE back, feels better then you could ever imagine. You've been a slave for the past 10 years to a can of posion weeds in a can. Its time to break free my friend. There's too much to live for.

So if you have a set of balls and can handle some tough love and undying support from people who have been through everything you're about to go through, then you're in the right place. We are an open book...read us.

Sounds like you have TRIED other ways to quit. Time to DO one that works.

Need anything, pm me anytime.

Diesel2112,
Craig

day three is awesome allmost have the nicotine out of your system. i see you found the april group. post roll there every day with your promise to quit for that day and keep your word. i work in the ems system as well. i am on day 51. it does get way better. i work close with our fire department. and i can tell you one thing there are a lot of your brother fire fighters who want to quit but dont have the balls to take the first step. i have seen four of my brothers in ems and fire quit and we help each other remain accountable at work. so keep up the awesome job and be a light of hope for your brothers. its a matter of life and death. proud to be quit with you.
Quit date 11-20-12
Never again for any reason. I quit for today. Today I live.
